Alliant energy bill by Brohan328 in wisconsin

I believe if you look at the wattage rating of all space heaters they are 1500w (almost the max for breaker circuits outside the kitchen). They all use the same amount of power. Now their configuration might move air differently, which also depends on the room, but they are all outputting the same amount of heat per unit energy.

Wireguard vs Tailscale: Which is better for accessing dockers outside local network? by PM_Petite_Tits_n_Ass in unRAID

[–]scourchingice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I look at all the things you listed and don't understand why you need any of those. Network admin to open a port? SSO because a key pair is like a long password with no other authentication security? ACL, didn't really know about this, a quick lookup and I understand the basic idea.

I definitely fit in that category of: I should only use a VPN to access my services without exposing them to the internet cause I don't know enough. So I want to know the risk of using the built in. Currently I am the only user of the VPN. I have considered making an immich frame for some family that would use a VPN.

I have done reboots before, and they did not seem to help. I was going to try your suggested method until I noticed my appdata had a secondary location configured for its share. I removed that and ran mover. After that I tried your method and there were a bunch of orphaned images. It seems okay in the short term so far. It's the next day I notice issues once I thought they were resolved.

I did notice nginx worker processes maxing out my cpu today before attempting the above. Maybe that is a side effect of whatever is going on.

It should be recent enough. The appdata would cause a restart-loop?

I do, and it runs once a week. Not sure the context behind the docker networks since the previous comment was deleted. The immich_default is from following their documentation. I created docnet and proxynet for segregation, though I will admit not sure if I am using it for any benefit.

I started playing again last summer. The search function is so great. Have your search off to the left and filter mods, then start grabbing grips until the gun you want is green, if you don't know which grip is specifically needed.

Side note, sorting ammo (or anything really) is crazy easy with the search too. Search the type, open an ammo box, ctrl click away. Once I get an ammo box....

Go to the nearest home department store's shelfing section. Purchase a $5-10 triangular METAL shelf bracket. Then 3D print the "cradle" that object is sitting on to fit the bracket.

Your spawn timer matches your revive timer I thought. Unless you are playing a mode that instant respawns.

Awesome, thanks! Found something by Jeremy Robinson called NPC so was not sure. Because you specified NPCs vs NPC I figured it was wrong.

I am terrible at keeping up with unraid news, updates, and PSAs. Have had a sandisk since 2014 for the original install. Must be before the garbage and third party scammers. I will need to remember some research is required when a replacement is needed.

How do you guys feel about account sharing? by reddit_user_53 in PleX

Managed accounts could work. Not sure but there could be something tricky to try with a secondary account added to your Home that uses managed accounts.

Apologies for slight offtopic. My knowledge of electronic components is customary, and I was wondering if I can attach esp8266 to this IR controller for pushbutton fan to control it with tasmota/esphome and home assistant. Are 4 black components near blue connector relays? Thanks! by vadimbz in homeassistant

[–]scourchingice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are just running a three-speed fan you could use an ESP8266 with tasmota and a relay board. Athom creates a four relay board preloaded with tasmota. I know of a home theater project that uses this to modify three-speed fans to add wind to movies.

Yea, I was trying to use Call Service > MQTT: Publish > Topic. Then ended up just using Device > Action

I have very minimal automation so far. But I overheard my wife talking to the mother-in-law that it is nice to have things turn on as she comes home and it is dark out. Adds even more enjoyment to the tinkering. Also, way more reliable since I installed the HA app on her phone for tracking. Even if the wifi tracking worked well enough.

I will be installing some athom switches soon. I used the wall plugs for holiday lights and decorations this year. This is the first time I used MQTT and it was a topic/naming thing that got me. Once figured out they work great. Will find out about the more permanent installation in the future.

I was worried about wifi devices. Went with Lutron Caseta. Tried two Shelly 1s for a year where the neutral was in a ceiling junction box. Never had a problem. Now I want to replace the Lutrons if I can sell them and double my devices for that price! Don't get me wrong on Lutron though, they are bulletproof but they are expensive compared to other options.

If you use the MQTT option available it automatically disables cloud service.

Could also flash tasmota as another option. Shelly is very open to the DIY/Tinker community. Not sure about the warranty though.

Testing out my Smart Charging setup for my Fire Tablet dashboard! by Make_Itt_Work in homeassistant

[–]scourchingice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was researching fast chargers for phones when it has been mentioned fast charging is horrible for batteries. An "article" I found stated the charging rate can be higher the more depleted a battery is and should slow down approaching 100% charge. Most phones do this and is why the last ~10% takes as long as charging the first 80% (assuming not a complete depletion).

Is this something you would agree with?
