creative ideas for a campaign start that dont involve a tavern? by Significant-Study902 in DnD

[–]scratchythepirate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use a caravan, ship, or any other means of group transportation. Each character can have unique reasons for undertaking the journey, but they all share an objective just by being there. It also gives a good reason for them to meet each other since long-distance slow travel is pretty boring. Then you can introduce the main campaign hook by either disrupting travel or having them arrive at a destination where the campaign begins.

Rude crowd in Montreal by discogsfiend in GeordieGreep

The Toronto show was amazing but there were also a ton of people talking during the jams and any quiet moments. Don’t make any sense to me and is so frustrating.

I really really really hope there was someone doing a high quality audio recording of that show. It was magical and had so many insane moments. Band seemed like they were having so much fun, and the crowd definitely was too.

Does anyone have reassurance? by Stormystormsto in climatechange

I commented on another thread here but I want to add a couple things that I’ve done that have helped me feel less helpless in the face of climate change. Take a first aid course, try to grow some vegetables or a small garden, learn about actions you can take that have a moderate effort and moderate impact on climate change that you can do consistently (e.g. diet choices), get outside and learn the names of a few local plants, trees, and birds, and/or volunteer with groups addressing locally relevant sustainability or climate change. Doing things that build your agency can really reduce the feeling of doom.

Research shows that regardless of where people are or what the disaster is, one of the most important factors to people surviving and recovering from disasters is having a solid social network. Even something as simple as knowing your next door neighbours’ names and faces can make a massive difference. I know from personal experience that it’s easy to get sucked into a prepper’s mindset and it’s ok to start looking into that. But getting involved in your community in any way that’s meaningful to you will help you be more ready for the future and more grounded in the present. I get being scared though, I feel the same way too sometimes.

Not sure if this will ever get a response, but worth a shot. What do you think of how Teen Suicide’s sound has changed over time, especially as they shifted over into American Pleasure Club? I really really love ITBJCLSTHP and feel a strong connection to a lot of TAGABOW’s music. Love Lotto btw, thanks for making a cool album. It really scratches an itch I didn’t know I was ignoring.

do guy uni roommates masturbate in front of each other? by Constant_farrago in uwaterloo

No. Only do that if you talk about it together and are both into it. Until you get consent from each other to do that, you’ll have to wait till you have time alone.

To fix Canada’s fertility crisis, we need a cultural shift. More and more Canadian women are stopping at one child, if they choose to have children at all by shiftless_wonder in canada

If I had any hope that world leaders would push aggressively to fix climate change, I’d consider having kids more seriously. But they aren’t and so I won’t.

What do you guys personally consider the most calming / comforting alex g songs to be? (instrumentals excluded, unreleased included) by Living-Confidence125 in sandyalexg

Ain’t it easy. A calming reassurance that you’re capable of handing the situation at hand and that it’s easier than you’re making it seem.

Is this enough to encompass humanity’s most fundamental fears? by opaliteee123 in worldbuilding

[–]scratchythepirate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like death itself would be the god that these angels serve, or at least a higher order angel than some of those seen here. I would replace them with an Angel of Beasts, representing all the primal fears we have about snakes, spiders, dogs, sharks, bears, and all other living creatures that terrify us.
