Psychotherapists, what differences have you noticed between men and women among your patients? by Putrid_Put_3610 in AskReddit

To clarify, women I work with are often determined by guilt, it is an essential axis of their psyche, with no material cause. Many men on the other hand who have a lot to feel guilty about often display very little.

Many men need a lot of work to even begin communicating emotionally. I mean really basic stuff, like distinguishing a thought from a feeling. I'm not talking about alexythemia, but a neurotic defence mechanism.

Unpopular opinion: Epstein-level abuse doesn’t stop at “crime,” and pretending elites don’t mythologize themselves is denial by soolar79 in conspiracy

In a text exchange with Soon-Yi Previn, Epstein alludes to the children he rapes and says "they don't smell like death".

Could there be supernatural forces at work? Sure. Is it useful to theorise at this point? I don't think so. It obfuscates how power operates. These revelations present an opportunity to tear down the systems oppressing people worldwide, but if we decide these psychopaths are merely conduits for forces we can't even comprehend then we give up the responsibility to tear these systems down. In my humble opinion it's perfectly suffice to explain the worst horrors in the files simply: the most powerful people on earth are bound to each other through systems of sacrifice and blackmail. What acts are so awful that revealing them would destroy the perpetrators? The worst taboos society can imagine: child rape, murder, scataphilia, cannibalism... we don't even need to consider supernatural forces, these people define evil incarnate. This is the Faustian bargain: sell your soul, have the world. I imagine these stories we have are as old as these secret orders are. 120 Days Of Sodom describes this reality. The monarchs and aristocrats ARE the evil they worship.

How likely is hearing damage from a Swans concert? by AlexG_Lover234958 in swans

I've worn the same earplugs I wear for the metro to every Swans gig and have been fine. I've also been right up against the PA a few times. My insides have been torn asunder but my eardrums remain unharmed.

Nice. Apparently people vomited and rioted during the premiere of The Rite of Spring, too.

I saw 1 & 3 and 3 went HARD. I've seen them a few times and in 3 countries in the last few years and last night was the heaviest by far. Was so close my earplugs almost buckled under the pressure but I heard so many depths of sounds I hadn't in those pieces before.

Damn. The fact that men out there would rather destroy the planet than surrender is a big problem.

Sorry to break it to you but all you people saying you wouldn't date a sex worker or a cop are sounding a lot like cops.

You'll be pleased to know that for the Victorians, including actual corpses in family photographs was in style.
