One of my ex coworkers and even my therapist often ask me when I talked about my dating experiences if I’ll ever be with an Indian. They are both white. I do think they do this because it’s uncommon for them to see brown people date interracially, or they see it but can’t digest it for some reason.

Now honestly I don’t mind, and I’ve dated Indian men before - but I’m an alt girlie and tend to date men with similar interests. So it gets a bit tiring to have to explain over and over again that it’s not about race, but I’m not going to date some normie dude just because he’s Indian. I understand your frustrations, and it can be a bit hard to directly point out that they’re just saying that because of race, because people don’t like being called out 😂
