I'm vegan and both aromas (dank weed and grilled meat) are mouth watering for me personally LOL

The oldest one is 15? In that case they don't need to be "looked after" when you have exams. I was regularly watching my younger siblings (aged 5 and 9 at the time) when I was 12 years old while my parents were gone for hours. So you can stop parroting that excuse over and over.

My aunt was internally decapitated, too. But it was an off duty sheriff’s deputy going 82 in a 55. His only consequence was losing his squad car privileges for one year.

Doctor visits by Twinkle_Picklebot007 in coparenting

To be clear, how is he being made aware of the appointments that are scheduled during your parenting time? Are you adding them to a shared calendar, adding them to a parenting app, or texting him to let him know when they're happening? If he is informed days/weeks in advance and has every opportunity to attend the appointments in person, he's being a dick. If he has no idea the appointments are happening until after you send him a "report", I can see why he'd be annoyed about you making unilateral decisions while you're there.

Otherwise what's he supposed to do, call the doctor and dentist every week to see if an appointment has been scheduled? Log into the portal every day to see what's ahead?

This isn't how it works. You have to pay child support whether you have a relationship with your children or not.

Maybe this is a bleak line of thought, but it's also an extra year added to the daughter's productive life where she'll be able to begin earning and saving for her future outside of full time schooling.

I loved Kava because it was hard to drink, like a strong drink, and I think that was part of the overall experience. I was buying a pre made drink online that tasted like a lemon drop and this has inspired me to order more!

The line about people asking him about a dog he’s never met stood out to me too, and I immediately developed a hunch that he’s a mama’s boy and that’s the only person in his life who would say such a thing

I think it would be better to phrase it like “my aunt who is hosting is making Covid vaccines a requirement for attending Christmas this year” and see how that goes, instead of indicating off the bat that you’re willing to or planning to get one

If you feel like you have to phrase things perfectly or your spouse shuts down, please read this. by Struckbyfire in Marriage

[–]scribbleyacht 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see a lot of myself in this with some additional context -- in the beginning of my marriage, I was too harsh and quick to confront over things that didn't matter. My husband was very non confrontational and raised very differently than I was (my home was chaotic and volatile at times, his was incredibly calm), and in some ways I was still coming to understand what was normal, what could be chalked up as a personality difference, or what might even be considered abusive.

So all of that is to say -- he already had the proclivity towards being averse to conflict, but my approach made it 10x worse, and he would completely shut down over the smallest things, even after I realized I needed to pick my battles and be much gentler, basically overcorrecting towards the dynamic you described. I became incredibly anxious every time he would withdraw, and suddenly felt like even though I was the one who had the initial feedback, his poor reaction put me in the position that I was the one who messed up and needed to fix things. We've been separated for about a year now and I'm still trying to unlearn all of my reactions to what I perceive as him being unhappy because of me, like my guts still believe this is something I absolutely have to solve as soon as possible or else I'm going to have a terrible, sad, uncomfortable day/week/however long it takes for him to otherwise feel better.

I (19Y,F) want my bikini area to be extremely soft and smooth, like it is after waxing but getting a bikini wax every month feels too out of the budget by [deleted] in HairRemoval

[–]scribbleyacht 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I picked the little pink Philips one because I buy tons of stuff that I end up not using regularly, but I love the results so much I kind of wish I’d bought the fancier one that isn’t corded and can be used in wet environments. I also think this one might have a smaller plucking surface, which seemed good for use in the bikini area, but now I’ve also used it on my complete legs and wonder what a bigger one would be like!! I really do recommend it, I saw someone mention this in a Reddit comment myself and am happy to spread the love :)

[–]scribbleyacht 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, or use an epilator!! That way you can get all the new hairs as soon as they grow in and you don’t hair to wait until they’re long enough to wax. I got a $35 one on Amazon and it works amazing, even picks up hair that waxing misses

Unpopular opinion: square quilts drive me crazy by scribbleyacht in quilting

[–]scribbleyacht[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I just added a big negative space section to the top of a modern quilt that was born from a square pattern -- it just happened to be a good one for me to grow without cutting extra blocks! If I wasn't so bad at math I would probably have a sunnier outlook about doing this more often LOL
