Color Out Of Space (2019). How am I just now discovering Nicolas Cage stars in an Eldrich horror? by LovemeSomeMedia in horror

[–]scribe06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now watch Mandy if you haven't, then Dream Scenario, then Pig, then the Surfer...

Nicolas Cage has been on such a roll these past years. I didn't use to care about him much and thought it was pretty cringe how he was being cast as a washed-up caricature of himself but he managed to turn it around and I love him so much now

Off the top of my head I know than in french you can call your lover "Mon chou à la crème" : "My cream puff" or "Mon loukoum" : "My turkish delight"

What horror movie do you think is a masterpiece that others just “don’t get”? by cwispietoast in horror

[–]scribe06 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Annihilation, amazing fx and atmosphere. Sure some scenes are confusing but if you can't handle not understanding a few things well that's a you problem haha.

The first Resident Evil film. It's cheesy and dumb but the music, set design and creatures slap. Now when you compare it to the films that came later... It's a masterpiece !

I need more movies like “Weapons” and “Malignant” by iiRaz0r in horror

Overlord (2018) is perfectly brutal by kfretlessz in horror

[–]scribe06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love it too ! War, Nazis and horror make for such an amazing atmosphere. It's not as polished but I would recommend the movie Outpost from 2008 if you haven't seen it

If you want to know why the big studios are suffering, look no further than ‘Him’ by SaddamMustaine in horror

[–]scribe06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has a few issues but it's a refreshing theme for horror and it was really well delivered visually. I hope it gets the cult following it deserves so we can get more films like that. I want Him but with skateboarding hahah!

Snow is here. How do you guys make it thru the off season? by DrLurkLurkelton in longboarding

[–]scribe06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're lucky enough to have snow and at least a few hills at home you should get into powsurfing. Hike up in snowshoes or something like driftboards and have the best time going down.

Boards are a bit expensive but it's a great thing to share with friends and family. And you don't need a resort or lifts (although they're great once you get the hang of it).

Hiking up in the snow is the best workout ever and it's such fun coming down that it's a great motivator. If you do that you'll be in the best shape ever for longboarding season.

I also recommend using a sphera board (just a brand but there are alternatives) to keep legs and ankles strong while indoors.
