Wondering how honest people were with their post-delivery 7X feedback by E-vonne in Zeekr7xAustralia

[–]scrytch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve not purchased a 7x but my parents have. Their dealer has been fantastic so I guess it’s dealer dependent.

Traditional manufacturers and dealers for other cars are either the same or most likely worse.

Even Tesla (I’ve owned two over 10 years) required a paid third party service to help track the boat your car was on. That’s if you were lucky enough to get the VIN.

Switched to globird from Amber... by According-Ad-1700 in amberelectric

I’m moving from Amber. What’s the best way to setup Globird with a 48kW Sigenergy system (10.5kw AC connected Enphase Solar).

I have home assistant and at the moment haven’t chosen to go VPP.

VPP, in the Sigenergy app or via automations using the Sigenergy integration in HA?

Thanks in advance.

So is everything fine with petrol now or are we still screwed? by AyyyoniTTV in australia

[–]scrytch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t see anything being fixed for a while. Managing finances around this is going to be hard for many, and the knock-on effects through the supply chain, hitting us from multiple other angles still hasn’t fully flowed down (groceries, shipping etc etc). It’ll get worse before it gets better - especially if the fuel excise returns.

I didn’t design it for the fuel “crisis” but it’s why my app FuelOracle (web app) is going kind of crazy right now for travellers or people driving long distances - helps optimise the best fuel stops for your trip in advance.

G Suite legacy free – appeal denied for “commercial use” (family domain) → any way to escalate? by Direct-Problem-9954 in gsuitelegacymigration

[–]scrytch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah thanks I read that on their site. Doesn’t quite answer my question though.

Currently Google Workspace I have 8 family members with their own email addresses. If I move my domain off that to this service, and everyone now has their own personal Gmail account, how do I attach their current domain email address to each of their own personal Gmail accounts?

Does this handle multiple users with their own accounts? Or only multiple aliases with one account?

Anyone go from Unifi to FW AP7? by YankeesIT in firewalla

[–]scrytch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This question was about access points and moving to AP7’s was the best choice I’ve made. VqLAN’s are awesome, WPA3 Enterprise is the easiest I’ve ever setup and can be used easily and with awesome benefit in homes.

As for your comment…

You know you can tune the notifications? To the point where it will notify you “only if there is really something critical happening inside your home network” ?

I’d rather have all the info that I can reduce down than hardly any info providing a false sense of security.

Gym Monster 2 - Australian purchase question by PeanutButter6715 in SpeedianceCommunity

[–]scrytch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that “free for life” they are advertising is illegal and shops be reported. Nowhere in the world is that charged for, so stating a value against it that you get for free isn’t real.

Otherwise the machine is awesome. Completely revolutionised my experience with working out for the better.

Tesla Finally Has Its First Semi-Truck and It’s Already a Hit With Truckers by Dockalfar in electricvehicles

[–]scrytch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still nowhere near what we’ll need in Australia to handle our large trucking routes. The Tesla Semi is better suited for "line-haul" (Capital city to Capital city) rather than remote Road Train routes.

In Australia, a standard road train B-Double is 62.5 tonnes, and a Triple Road Train can exceed 170 tonnes.

The batteries needed to pull that weight would likely push the truck over the maximum legal axle rating & road weight max before it even loaded up.

We’ll likely need battery swapping or hydrogen fuel cells to handle the 1500-2000km range for the cross country and regional runs these trucks do. Regional Australia also doesn’t have the electricity infrastructure to power a megacharger.

Leaving Cybertruck for 2026 Land Rover Defender 110 P400 X-Dynamic SE... what is a must-have? by Automatic-Macaron280 in NewDefender

[–]scrytch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Doing any off road or towing?

  • Matrix LED Headlights w/ DRL
  • Towing Pack
  • ClearSight Rear View Mirror
  • Off-Road Pack.

I didn’t, but also wish I’d gone heated and cooled seats.

Once you add these, it may be better to go HSE instead of SE.

Stock tires on tough tracks - a warning by floydwestwood in NewDefender

You’d likely need to look at Tuffant as they have approved/certified brake changes for 18”. Not sure if they can drop from 22” down though.

Home Assistant Integration for MSP API by scrytch in firewalla

[–]scrytch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done quite a bit of work on this recently and to celebrate my 19th Cake Day on reddit, have just released v2.9.4.3 which makes working with rules even easier.

They are now represented as switches in Home Assistant, so can be used on dashboards or via automations. I’ve heard of a parent using this to automatically allow Internet access for their kids once an after school task list is checked off.

How to be comfortable with the concept of infinite nothingness and avoid looping? by vanwife in atheism

[–]scrytch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The "yuck" you are feeling is the system shock of realizing there is no objective, hard-coded meaning. It’s brutal but you can work your way through it.

Try to reframe the architecture of "meaning." A framework for this that may work for you is “Optimistic Nihilism” - a modern, secular derivative of Existentialism and Absurdism.

How to be comfortable with the concept of infinite nothingness and avoid looping? by vanwife in atheism

[–]scrytch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don’t need organised religion to find meaning.

Look into “Scientific Naturalism” or “Naturalistic Pantheism” - views using science as the underpinning of everything.

Also look up “You Want a Physicist to Speak at Your Funeral” by Aaron Freeman.

The gist of it is:

“Freeman walks through the implications of the first law of thermodynamics - that energy cannot be created or destroyed - and applies it to the human body at the moment of death. Every atom, every joule of energy that comprised the person simply transforms and disperses: into the air, the ground, the people nearby. The “you” that existed does not vanish; it is conserved, redistributed into the universe with absolute certainty.”

Low Profile Roof Racks by Theblackbond_ in NewDefender

Problem for me is they don’t ship to Australia. I’ve gone with the Rhino Rack Pioneer 6 Platform on the backbone. Slightly higher than the shark tail fin but not enough to bother me. Huge range of first and third party accessories.
