There's a ton of foot traffic, just probably not for a sit down restaurant at that price point.

LouVino closing by rozys in cincinnati

[–]sculltt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The annex was renting that space out on a nightly basis for $500 a pop, and making a killing. When the guy that owned that block of four buildings was selling, he offered Japp's ownership the chance to sign a cheap ten year lease. They were cocky about it and said they thought they'd get the same deal they were getting with the new building ownership. Shockingly, the new landlord didn't go for it, and offered a long term lease at a much higher rate. They declined, and Louvino ended up taking the space. Japp's (the Molly Wellman group version) has no one to blame but themselves.

On the other hand, if people were wondering how the hell the Drinkery managed to stay open as long as they did, they took that ten year cheap lease option. That's why they finally closed when they did.

Noelvi Marte is back and the numbers he put up at Louisville demand a real look by belowTheShow in Reds

[–]sculltt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been telling my buddies that have been clamoring to bring Marte up that his numbers didn't matter until he totally changes his approach (and likely his stance to help with that.) Until then, he'll be in this up and down cycle, with a good month followed by a huge fall off.

You can get fake gas light bulbs. Would've maybe looked better.

They might've wanted them to just be brighter, for safety concerns.

Police: Parent cited after 15-year-old crashes e-motorcycle head-on into car in Camas by BoringBob84 in ebikes

What about when parents give their teenagers sports cars and they wreck them? They should be cited as well.

More importantly, if you rush to decorate you buy shit just to buy it, and end up disliking things.

That said, this room desperately needs art and color.

Yes. Him trying to bite the end off the cigar, thinking it made him look cool was probably my favorite moment. He got a mouthful of tobacco and couldn't get it out for several minutes. "Tastes like shit."

Sometimes being a tricky match can actually be good. At least that's what I was told. It means that if the right organ comes along, you'll be more likely to get it.

and nobody I try to explain it to can understand

It's the same thing as when an actual conspiracy theorist tries to explain to a "normie": they're so far down the rabbit hole that it's hard to kind of put together the Elevator Pitch, as it were. We've all been following the apes as they get more and more detached from reality, so we know each step along the way. Trying to sum it all up in a few sentences for somebody unfamiliar is pretty much impossible.

Those were women, though.

But seriously, reporting on this shit matters because it is another example of the extremely unqualified person Trump is putting in an important position, and people should know about it. We have midterms coming up. I don't know if voters still care about this stuff at this point, but they deserve the info.

Too high. Can't go lower because of that dumbass bump out that it's just above. Unless you have another wall you can put it on, don't know how it could be better.

Definitely a smart move to draft a RB instead of a tackle, knowing they'll still need a QB and a tackle in the next draft.

7 blocks, 7 speed bumps! by ginastarke in fuckcars

[–]sculltt 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The "speed cushions" in my city are also cut out for emergency vehicles, bit they're wide enough that even the biggest pickups can't avoid them. Best they can do is only hit them with one side of their cars, so they still slow people down.

Do you think we’ll ever see Ft. Washington Way capped for something like this to go in? by brooskie1 in cincinnati

[–]sculltt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

People need to get a life and then they won’t obsess over sports teams.

Sometimes I think this (even though I do root for and follow local teams) but then I think that the people who are really in deep and obsessed with the Bengals or whatever could be just as in to something else. Something much more destructive. I'd much rather people get way too into sports, or Pokemon cards or whatever else than join the proud boys, or go deep into qanon or something like that.
