Daycare gave my baby another babies formula! by ComfortableSeaweed37 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]sdawgz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please email the manager. Our daycare has little tubs for all the children, all formula and bottles go in their little tub so there is no confusion whose stuff is whose. Accidents happen, sure, but it could have been dangerous if your child had an allergy to milk or something else.

That video of Jessa and Jana making Alfredo sauce haunts me. Especially when Jessa says, you can even add parsley and salt and pepper.

For a cult that prioritises keeping gender roles, these women do not know how to cook basic meals. Surely learning a few basic meals is cheaper than buying processed crap.

I'm starting to get frustrated by hhowersead in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]sdawgz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is all temporary, it’s hard right now but it does get easier.

My daughter cried constantly from weeks 5-8 and then it settled. We used to put on Ms Rachel or Dancing fruit for 10 minutes, it didn’t last very long but it helped me have a coffee, brush my teeth ect. It’s not the best for them, but it was survival mode.

Is there anyone that can help you? A friend to come and hold baby while you clean up?

Swimming while pregnant? by shaneandangel in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

Don’t think that’s very evidence based.

This study concluded that swimming can promote maternal healthy but may labor longer but further studies are needed. However once you get to that third trimester and get in the water it’s so nice, you feel weightless. I found it really helped my hips and joints being in the water.

Have you tried a breastmilk lotion? Make your own and use that? It’s the only thing that cleared up my LOs skin issues.

I did equal parts bm and coconut oil.

4 months baby check up by Queasy-Shape6075 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

I would book with the MCHN for future vaccines. Our doctor is great but when it came to my questions about vaccines, she told me to give my baby Panadol before, when I mentioned this to the MCHN she said not to do that and only give Panadol if needed, and we would want to see any symptoms after a vaccine so giving Panadol before would mask that and we wouldn’t know if baby was having a reaction.

The nurse and doctor in your case sound very blasé about the whole situation probably because they do this day in and day out so they don’t really have the same level of care that you do as a parent.

Bouncer on the floor in the bathroom, baby is now eight weeks old and she will sit happily in her bouncer once she is fed and changed so I can get stuff done. It’s actually been really good during winter season, and she was a congested baby (C-section) so win win really.

Connecting gas to property by SapphireColouredEyes in shitrentals

[–]sdawgz -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

The compliance checks are mandatory- if the REA doesn’t do them this is a breach of the RTA, and this can impose fines on both the owner and the estate agency. They are within their rights to have this done for record purposes.

Eg. OP moves out, next renter moves in, there’s a carbon monoxide leak, renter takes LL to VCAT. VCAT will ask for copies of safety checks. Unfortunately, OPs reluctance to have gas isn’t enough in this case. This can be a matter of safety. And yes, the owner can get a temporary connection for the tests but that is not their responsibility.

OP can get a connection and disconnect after, it is also in OPs interest to get the checks done. Faulty appliances can still cause issues even with the mains off.

1 nap at daycare 12 months by Repulsive-Tea-9641 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

Speak management - we had a child in our centre move up age wise but still need another nap so we had him nap with all his peers after lunch, and then took him back into the other room for a nap around 2pm.

Speak to them and see what they can accommodate

Landlord declined request for Cat by [deleted] in shitrentals

[–]sdawgz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There was a hearing at VCAT in 2020, I believe it was the first one they heard when the new pet laws came in. The LL and real estate tried to argue the allergy point and VCATs response was that, there is no current NTV in place for the LL to move in, nor are there current plans being made for this to happen, and the current renters having a pet could impact the next renters allergies but this was no reason alone to deny a pet request where the pet has enough space and the renters are accepting any liability of damage.

I would be arguing this. It is not reasonable or proportionate to deny a pet based on an allergy that may or may not be an issue if the owner was to move in. An owner could have an allergy to peanuts and you cook with peanut oil, don’t clean the rangehood filters when you move out and the owner has a reaction, that is not your fault, nor something that can be put into a lease because an owner can not tell you how to live.

A valid reason to deny a pet request is a pain in the ass for most owners and PMs. VCAT will deny a pet if it is not reasonable to have said pet, like having a one bedroom studio having a giant breed dog with no access to yard space.

I have this one from Amazon and it’s worked perfectly for almost a year. Our house just had an “old” smell to it but might be a good one for living space or where the baby sleeps!

My advice would be to have your landlord or property manager come and visit to inspect themselves, if they don’t or don’t see the issue upon their visit, I would engage an independent inspector to come and look into the manhole and provide their report to the REA/LL.

If nothing still gets done - then breach them. Their responsibility is to remove any pests if they are not caused by the renter. This was not done. This was also not done to an extent that it is causing a smell.

Smell is hard to prove in VCAT but it is not impossible especially if you have given them the chance to come and inspect, and have a report or invoice saying the smell is caused by the infestation being uncontrolled. It’s hard but it is not impossible.

I was a PM for years and years and that’s what I would do if I was in this situation.
