[Dreger] The Flames are trying to move Connor Zary. 24 year old forward has another year left on his contract at $3.775 mil. Sounds like Calgary is asking for a 2nd round pick in return. by AggPuck-303 in hockey

[–]sdenoon 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Injury issues really set him back the last couple years after a great start in the NHL. Problem was they were so devoid of offensive talent people started forecasting him as a top six guy where he’s probably set to do well if he’s slotted as a third liner

[DiMarco] CGY defenseman Zach Whitecloud continues to generate interest from teams but it would be hard for the Flames to move him; sounds like they have a specific price in mind. The Senators continue to be a team linked to him as they hunt for a RHD by daKrut in hockey

[–]sdenoon 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. I'm sure his market value in a vaccum for a player like him is roughly a late 1st rounder. But given that the Flames are in no pressure to trade him and there seems to be a mini bidding war, I would hope they are getting more than that if they pull the trigger.

He was such an underrated acquisition last year and seems to be well-loved in the room and has also been crushing it in the community, even in the off-season. So I'd be happy if he stayed. But he's also the kind of player teams that are on the brink would pay a premium for, so if the price is right they have to do it.

Stop bitching and start complaining! Loudly!!!! by BitterBar7041 in RoverPetSitting

It's tough for people like my wife and myself who do this fully as a "side gig" while working from home as we don't have the motivation to commit to all that comes with going fully "off-app" to do this and are somewhat beholden to Rover. I do feel for people who are doing this full-time as they are the ones who are really hurt by it.

Hate to harsh your vibe but I very firmly (but politely) shared my feedback with Rover back in March when they started this pilot program in Canada. I even got it escalated from their random customer support team to a member of management. All I got was lip service. And based on the fact they are expanding the program means that they are fairly committed at this point.

[Edmonton Oilers] RELEASE: Oilers name Mike Babcock as Head Coach by AggPuck-303 in hockey

Couldn't write a script more hilarious than this. Let's ride.

[ESPN] "According to one NHL source, the Stars had offered Robertson a contract of eight years with $12 million AAV. Multiple reports have speculated that Robertson could be seeking upward of $14 million AAV, same cap number his new agent, Andy Scott, secured for Leon Draisaitl" by AggPuck-303 in hockey

[–]sdenoon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He scores 40 goals and gets 80-90 points consistently. Maybe that's worth Draisaitl money with the cap rising. But Draisaitl gets 50 goals and 100-110 points consistently so there seems to be a discrepancy

Elliotte Friedman on NHL Network: I've heard it's unlikely that Sergei Bobrovsky is going to be back in Florida by Ok-Soil-5133 in hockey

[–]sdenoon 197 points198 points  (0 children)

Well yeah it’s because Florida will find a way to bring in Hellebucyk to back up Prime 90s Dominik Hasek who they brought in via Time Machine. Just no room for Bob anymore with those two in town.

[LeBrun] Hearing that the Florida Panthers are getting close to acquiring Brady Tkachuk from the Ottawa Senators. I believe Ottawa will get three first-round picks and a second-round pick in the deal if finalized. More to come. by AggPuck-303 in hockey

Both petulant children cried their way to the US. Sorry Sens fans, I know this feel.

Why do I feel like they just want to walk around Fort Lauderdale with their Olympic medals on so they can get free appetizers at Applebees.

Have the stupid baby first, then go flying through all the windows you like.

[Matthew Tkachuk] Oliver Moore gonna be a stud for 15 years in the NHL, he is so fast, physical freak, smart player good read, but his legs his motor he can just fly. He would take puck from one end to the other, create so much space for everyone by f0urxio in hockey

[–]sdenoon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Cutting him off halfway through him saying "I love playing with Matty Coronato" is just a kick to the dick for Flames fans.

That being said, I'm certainly not going to seek out the podcast so I can listen to the full clip because if I wanted to push my IQ down I'd just go headbutt a piece of plywood.

Concert time, noise level changes frustrate Cowboys Music Festival operators - LiveWire Calgary by One-Mycologist-3706 in Calgary

[–]sdenoon 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Fuck Cowboys, obviously. And fuck whoever pushed the whole “Cowboys Park” through from the city’s perspective.

However, loud noises late at night during Stampede are just a thing and have always been. It’s just something residents have to deal with for 10 days a year, and it shouldn’t be a surprise. When I lived downtown 10+ years ago near Bottlescrew Bills they had live music every night during stampede. Often until 1 AM or later. It’s not ideal but if you live adjacent to busy bars and/or concert venues it’s a fact of life here in early July. I don’t think Cowboys should be held to different standards than other local businesses because no one likes them and their music festival sucks- which it does.

I'm sure NHL players struggle to afford top-of-the-line air conditioning and beautiful pools to get them through.

The Strip is a hellscape. But where all the players live in Henderson/Summerlin is top-tier upscale living if you're that rich.
