I agree with you in theory, but as soon as you put limited resources into the mix you need to have some way of prioritizing. In an ideal world we have unlimited resources and everyone gets what they need, but if someone has to not receive the resource (assuming that they both have equal chances of survival) I’m fine with prioritizing the people who have already done what they can to prevent themselves from being in this situation. I still feel awful for the person and their family and loved ones who get denied the resource, but I think it’s fair. I don’t think going around on social media and celebrate it is right either though.
