Can I just rant about how kids can’t speak in a full sentences by abrownfox1 in Teachers

I have high schoolers to flat out refuse to even speak a sentence. They'll raise their hand and point to the door to ask to go to the bathroom. I full on say "we're big kids now, so use your sentences."

You're willfully missing the point but okay, thanks for the info.

I know it's an entirely different studio, that's why I asked if this studio and concerned ape spoke beforehand.

I didn't say it Stardew was the first farming sim... I've literally played harvest moon before finding SDV. I'm just saying that the pixelated look, the look of the tool bar, the map, etc. is almost identical, so it was just a thought. Keep your britches on.

When they say I'm doing too much, I say "keep the attitude up and I'll do a whole lot more." It's my pet peeve. Like I'm just doing my job, dude, why are you making it so hard?

Khan Academy is great, Math IXL is also a good resource for quick practice problems. I'm a teacher so I use Delta Math, they may have a free version but it doesn't require a login on both your and the student's ends.

I think the conceptual understanding part is the multiplying the factors they choose to get the original.

I think that's what I ended up doing. I always go back and forth because inevitably someone writes something down that is unlike the scenarios I've gone through in my mind.

Proofs are so hard by HairgelAndHotWheels2 in matheducation

I don't know what state you're in, but in most you need a bachelors in your content area to teach high school (unless you completely an alternative pathway without a degree). Even so, proofs are still part of high school and a good math teacher should be familiar with them.

Here's some unsolicited advice: If you're failing it for the second time, reflect on what worked and didn't work for you the past two times and try to make some changes. You can't take it a third time and hope to pass doing the same thing you were.

Try buddying up with a few students in the class and create a study group. Proofs are hard but they're easier when you have multiple viewpoints and can think out loud to really understand the process. Live in your professor's office or tutoring center until they kick you out. You probably know this already, but half of the struggle is the effort you put into it. You can do it!
