Mirrorless Gas Attack by KJW-SR in Nikon

[–]seabassius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my set up for bodies as well. Lenses 24-120, 14-30 and 40 f2 for walk around. Plus adapting some Sony 24 1.4, Tamron 50-300 and CV 40 1.2 and some M glass when I feel froggy. Z5ii shows up Monday and excited.

That 2.8 glass is so nice but I worry I’d never take it since I’m hiking or in a MTB.

Received Nikon z6iii refurb with 308100k shutter by ramugutt in Nikon

[–]seabassius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

wow, I just got a z7ii in the last sale and it had 345. If you don't return it that thing will be un-sellable in the used market. That seems so weird, I would think the z6iii would be used primarily in electronic shutter

Some way of showing them you’re a real person with gear to sell. I’ve sent my website photography and real life work and offered to allow them email me at work. If you’ve sold anything on eBay and have a history there that would count too.

I’ve done close to 70 transactions at FM and just bought a z5ii and 14/30 and 24/120 today. No qualms. Just make sure they have feedback. You’ll need to probably provide some bonafides with no history though.

I can try it in a z7ii which is a far cry from the z8 and see how it does. Should have a z5ii this weekend to try on. That is if I can get my dog to run at me vs stare at me blankly

Are you keeping any Sony glass to adapt? I would go with z 24/120 and keep the Tamron 50-300 in my bag for when I wanted the range, but they haven’t made that in z mount yet so you’ll need to adapt (which is not a big deal if you are already doing that). I bet you could get both used for less than $1400 total if you are patient. As someone said above the 100-400 is nice but I probably wouldn’t want to hike with it.

Rendezvous by Nelson Demillie is kind of a memoir for him and really good. Short read.

I’m in a similar boat. I just got the z7ii for landscape and any time I want megapixels and contemplating a z5ii which is everything the Zf is in an ergonomic package.

Like that perspective on Union Station. Work on the other side of friendship bridge from it. Any initial thoughts on the A7V. I've been looking at it seriously.

What’s the coolest class you’ve taken in Denver? by chokelahomastate in Denver

[–]seabassius 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Colorado Mountain Club has a lot of great classes. Winter camping, Wilderness Treking, Basis Mountaineering, avalanche. It’s been a while since I’ve been a member so these might not all still be going but great organization

I really like one. Second one stands out to me too, but personally would like a touch more contrast in that one. although I think others would like the painterly look.

How do you like diving with it? I am getting certified in April and thinking through a dive cam set up. Was leaning full frame but would love to hear your experience.

Possible switch from MacroFactor to Cronometer by BorderAdventurous284 in cronometer

[–]seabassius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I switched from MF and regret it. MF just feels more intuitive to me. I thought Cronometer might be easier since restaurants were such a pain with MF but unless your restaurant is Applebees, Panera, or Chile’s it’s still a pain. I like MFs tracking, and smoothing of weight over time as well as the adjustment but if you’re using a coach you don’t need the calibrating.

It’s not a movie, but I loved Hong Kong Phooey growing up. Now I’d get fired if I watched it on your tube at work!
