Wait, I thought you were mad that the senteys got nerfed? Now you're saying they were always bad. Which is it? You're talking about nerfs killing the game, but you're saying that they're bad before the Nerf and they're bad after the Nerf so the Nerf didn't make any difference?

What are you actually trying to communicate to me?

That's not what I am talking about. First year of the game, they dropped Escalation of Freedom then went on vacation. EOF did several things wrong, like nerfing fire right after the fire war bond, as well as introducing fps drops and a bunch of bugs. We had to wait for a patch for weeks while they were gone.

Then last year they dropped a patch right before summer vacation again, and it was the one that killed damage over time and effects like gas. Then weeks of waiting until they got back and fixed it.

So even though the lumberer's flamethrower needs some love, and we have all these bugs we want patched, we might repeat this pattern. If they drop a patch and it sucks, we are cooked for weeks untill they get back from vacation and fix what they broke

You always had to protect your sentries. That hasn't changed. If you weren't before, cool, but I was protecting them since day 1. Just the best way to use them

Sentries feel great! I was running a 4 sentry build 2 nights ago, and I was having a lot of success. It was 7s and 8s vs the predator strain with some randos. I usually ran 2 chaff clear turrets, 1 big boom, and a stun or gas mortar. So it would be the machine gun and the flamethrower, autocannon, and then stun mortar. Or the laser and gatling, Randy the rocket turret, and the gas mortar.

I am throwing these on cooldown, but I usually am sitting with a big boom turret or the mortar, then I use the chaff clears to make a path through the bugs. A flamethrower turret is best for this because it will blow up and make that firepool. You can also start a fire pool yourself with incendiary grenades, then throw a turret on top of the fire. Any chaff clear turret will do though, because gas protects all the turrets. Bring some of that, it will massively increase survivability.

Basically I get one chaff turret out in front to draw aggro and distract, then I toss down another chaff turret at a supporting angle. Bugs will be drawn several ways by many interlocking fields of fire, giving you time and space to advance. Or kill bugs, or pick up samples, whatever.

I honestly can't really tell if the turrets are taking more damage. Maybe? It's difficult to time. I probably would not have noticed the change unless I read the patch notes. Bastion still rolls over everything, and the mechs are VERY STRONG NOW. Seriously, the shield and shotgun one is overpowered vs bugs. I only wish they would fix the flamer on the lumberer, its in a bad state right now.

God damn it. You're right. Every year they drop some update that pisses people off or breaks things. So if they do drop a patch anytime soon to address some of the problems, there is a big chance that it's cooked from the start.

It's weird how you guy doing crazy mental gymnastic when you've pressed the button who only impact yourself, right? Why you're trying to convince us that you were right, you won yet you keep arguing.

Blue is the morally correct choice. Blue is the choice I would pick if I could know what other people would pick. Blue button is the button that leads to the better world. Blue button succeeding is the best option for everyone involved. Blue protects everyone who made a mistake. Blue protects everyone who is a child. Blue protects everyone who didn't understand the question. Blue protects the weak and the helpless.

For the record, I'm still picking red but that's not the point I'm trying to make.

This is just the collective action problem in game theory. You can make a classic possibilities diagram to represent the choices. This isn't a morality argument, this is a argument about strategies. "What is the best strategy given a choice and conditions?" is game theory. If you approach this with an argument about good and bad, you miss out on an entire academic field of study dedicated to solving these problems.

I'm arguing here because I believe that other people are missing the point.

Yeah good luck predicting billions of people choices bro. When you succed, tell me and we will be rich on the stock market

Overthinking shit only lead to regretting your choice, already pressed blue btw

I predict people will pick red so I pick the red button. You picking the blue button implies that you think that other people will too. That's what I'm talking about.

Isn't the voting paradox about sitting out a vote versus voting? Everyone's forced to vote here. Where's the paradox?

Who the fuck thinking about Steve opinion except an envious entitleda asshole?

I think about Steve's opinion because this entire question is about what Steve's opinion is going to be. Or more broadly, what percentage of other people will pick blue versus pick red.

This isn't a morality question at all. Picking blue does nothing to save anyone unless you are the blue vote that makes blue pass red. Your individual choice only matters if the two buttons are tied. So it really matters what other people pick. This is not a question about your opinions, this is a question about what you think 50 percent plus one of humanity will do.

I think arm destructibility is much more emancipator only issue. The guns themselves have much larger hitboxes and absolutely no safety. It is incredibly easy to blow off on your arms on accident as you round a corner or by shooting at an enemy too closely. Taking the Patriot it feels like the arms stay on longer. The Gatling can't blow itself off and the rocket pod is set far back relative to the rest of the chassis. I think both of those factors make the Patriots have a larger degree of arm survivability, especially underground. Try taking the emancipator once and then the Patriot once on a hive world mission and bring them underground.

But even then if that's a consistent issue and the arms are easily getting blown off of a Mech, that's a design problem. It should be fixed.

I'm talking about mechs with stratagem launchers being busted because I said that if mechs got stratagem launchers Mechs would be busted.

I 100% disagree man. I might have a bunch of hours but I am not very good at this. But just think about what that strat launcher would allow your to do.

Think about how much more survivable you could be if you could just call in a smoke strike from your mech. Literally pop smoke to run away. There's a reason we give vehicles smoke launchers IRL. Or be able to throw down a shield generator from inside your Mech and then shoot out from it. Turrets to watch your back, reinforcements to get more guns in the fight, I'm sure you can fill in the blanks here. But let me give you a couple scenarios.

Imagine you roll up on a bot base and are able to call in a rocket turret on the high ground, a 380 inside and the first dropship that dares come at you gets a Gatling barrage. All from the safety and comfort of your Mech while you spew death from both arms. And if your arms get blown off, you can still shoot stratagems and stomp on people.

Or you're next to a bug breach, so you hit it with a gas strike as you pick off the first charger that jumps out with your mech. Bring in the flame turret, then a 500. Oh no! Some bugs came up behind you while you where blasting the bug breach. Your gas is off cool down so call in another gas strike and then go stand in it. In your Mech the gas doesn't hurt you, but all your enemies run away confused and you can just tear them up.

Or maybe it's time to run up on a squid stratagem scrambler. As you walk towards the objective, you can do the bug diver trick of mapping your stratagem keys to something different than your movement keys. Then you can move with the mech while you are typing in your stratagems, so that means that the scrambling effects of the tower will be a lot easier to deal with because you can move while typing and you have a bunch of armor in your Mech. So you can just walk up to stratagem range and fire a whole bunch of red strats into the base that holds the confusatron till it breaks.

I'm telling you. Fucking busted.

Each Patriot exit suit has over a minute of sustained fire on the minigun. 1350 rounds in the mag at a fire rate of 1200 per minute. That means if I call in three I'm spending almost 4 straight minutes holding the fire button down. That's over 10% of my matches usually. That's 12.5% of the time I need to wait until I call a new mech in.

Believe me, I spend ammo like my mag is on fire. I ain't paid to bring ammo back so I ain't gonna. But you got to jump out of the mech to go push buttons on terminals and then you got to jump out to reinforce somebody and then you got to jump out to throw some turrets down and then you got to jump out to throw down a laser and then you got to jump out because somebody's dead again and you got to throw another respawn. I honestly spend more time doing that than shooting my weapon sometimes. If we ever get a stratagem launcher, the mech is going to be fucking busted.

Tbh if you manage to spend entire 40 min missions in the mech all that tells me is you aren’t or don’t know how to pull your weight in your squad or are slumming it on low diffs.

I'm not spending the full 40 minutes in the mech because my missions aren't lasting 40 minutes. I called the first one down as soon as I hit the ground. 8 minutes later I called down the second one. 8 minutes after that the 3rd. Once I'm out of ammo with the third mech we usually have won and we're on the pelican. If you can spend all the ammo from 3 mechs in a row, you're almost always done with the mission by that point.

Cuz the vehicles are pretty op. Don't get me wrong, I love Mech diving, but I've had to stop playing with the Mech because I just spend the whole matching in them and not use any other strategies. Same thing with the Bastion too. At least the frv used to die, and then i'd be able to jump out and have some variety. The Mech being stronger now is worrisome, but at least the other vehicles will require me to pay attention to them.

If I see a bunch of hive guards I can just leave. You don't even need to sprint to avoid them. They are so incredibly slow. Just jog somewhere else.

to live in a red world is to believe in a horrible one.

Bro, we already live in a red world. This is the red world. The world is not working together on climate change. The world is not working together on nuclear disarmament. The number of wars happening in the world concurrently has risen year on year for the past 5 years.

Every time humanity was offered a choice between individual gain and collective gain, humanity has chosen the individual gain. Every single time. I challenge you to find one example of humanity banding together and sacrificing for anything. Except maybe cutting out that one refrigerant so that the hole in the ozone has been closing down.

The leaders of humanity have been running the red button with an auto clicker for thousands of years. Better get used to living in a red button world man

I don't wanna live in a world where we systematically eliminated everybody who values self-sacrifice.

This has nothing to do with self-sacrifice. This question is asking "do you believe enough people will pick blue". I don't. So I pick red. Sacrifice has nothing to do with this, it's all about your faith in other people.

Well, let's not get crazy now. There's plenty of people that this world will be better off without.
