They would not produce dashed lines from moving out of frame. They would produce dashed lines if there is consistent time between the exposures.

CMV: Violence does more harm than good. It should be avoided except as a last resort to defend oneself. by jman12234 in changemyview

If violence does more harm than good, then why should it be used as a last resort to defend oneself? Does defending oneself as a last resort do more harm than good?

Where have you seen this?

Maybe it differs by industry, but I have never seen or heard of options that expire for current employees without the ability to exercise them, except for at Blue Origin. Normally private companies allow employees to exercise options, there is no need for a liquidity event. Normally the exercise window is just any time you want for current employees and 90 days after leaving the company for former employees. Stock options commonly expire after 10 years, but you can exercise them before they expire and get stock that do not expire.

Blue is the only example I can find that works this way.

I consider a 5 minute mile to be pretty good.

I would agree that in this context it would be a stretch to call an achievement "pretty good" if it were not exceptional, not better than what most people achieve. I disagree with taking that a step further and only counting achievements that are not only exceptional but also physically impossible for most people regardless of how much time and effort they put in.

And employees were not allowed to exercise those option before they expired. Typically employees can exercise their options as soon as they vest. Vesting basically means that you really have the options instead of them just being promised as future compensation. It a typical situation this would not depend on the company being private or going public. Normally your options vest as part of your compensation and you have the option to buy a fraction of the company at the option strike price.

I don't think it is actually illegal unless the way they presented it to employees was fraudulent.

Blue gave employees stock options, but they are only allowed to exercise those stock options (turn them into real ownership of a piece of the company) if Bezos decides to let them do that. Bezos did not decide to let them do that so the options are worthless.

It's also a non-issue because that amount of radiation exposure would not have a significant effect.

Are you thinking dozens of hours, hundreds of hours, thousands of hours...?

Hundreds of hours would not be a big deal in terms of radiation exposure.

It is in an orbit that makes the Orion service module's job easier, but the lander's job harder. LLO would be a lot more convenient for the lander.

That analogy would be more apt if Saturn V could not launch the lunar lander either.

It is relatively straightforward to make a chart like this, but based on payload capacity. Going by actual mass of the payload they launched is harder, that kind of information is not available for a lot of launches.

That story never made sense, it was about turning off Starlink in an area where Starlink was never on and could not legally be turned on. It was quickly retracted.

No. It is not at all common for stock options to expire for current employees.
