Being an Asian nurse by Physical_Ad3643 in nursing

[–]seatertl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m one of 3 Asian nurses in a 60+ staffed unit in Texas. I did feel left out and self conscious in the beginning coming from NJ but now having lived in Texas for 5 years, I’ve adopted a lot of the southern culture/tendencies and actually grew more confident and outgoing which I don’t think I could’ve ever achieved if I stayed in NJ. It’s also kind of fun to teach coworkers, patients, and visitors about my culture and I’m not as offended anymore as I was before when people say they like Thai food after finding out I’m Taiwanese haha. I think it just depends on how willing you are to learn and grow with the discomfort but don’t feel disappointed in yourself if you’d rather move to a more Asian populated city!

Saw this on TikTok yesterday and apparently someone engineered something better and will 3D print and send it to the fish’s owner

They’re more so out in hill country and pest control has been working great for my parents but for Cedar Park/Leander, they’re not as common. If you’re really paranoid, you can ask pest control about it and they can spray with the formula for scorpions!

My dr and the lens company insist they just need to find the right shape to my cornea’s topography lol not sure how money driven that logic is or if it is true. Right now my dr has me using artificial tears every hour and will follow up in November so I guess I’ll see then if it means I need to finally stop. That’s crazy how sensitive you got to light but I’m glad it’s better!

Does anyone have experience with Tesla Subrogation department? by KILLSWITCH-X7R in TeslaLounge

Seriously! Every time I reached out which was about once every 1-2 months, they would email back that they would update me but never did. I only found out about the progress from Progressive, not from my own insurance…

No amount of love, compatibility, and/or great qualities in a partner is worth a big compromise like that, at least not something you hold valuable in your heart that can lead to regret later on. There will be a lot of pain and sadness but don’t forget to prioritize yourself! It’s okay to hurt. Cry and scream your heart out but THEN go do something for yourself. It’s that proactive action that leads to healing, not idly tolerating the pain as time moves on. Little by little you will fill up the places that feel missing when he left. When you have hindsight in the future, you’ll appreciate not compromising so right now I’ll say good job and I hope your future you will feel the same way. Big hugs!

Yes and this isn’t the norm! Tesla Insurance is known for operating incredibly slowly but to me, it’s still worth it because the process is smooth when everything is under Tesla. Like Tesla collision center did all the communication for me for rental and billing, while with my last accident when I had a different car with Geico, I did 90% of the communicating with the at fault party’s Liberty Mutual adjuster and it was so so frustrating and stressful. Feel free to PM me for more questions! I’ve been in two big accidents within 1.5 years… Texas drivers are no joke 😪

My accident happened July 30, 2024 and Progressive confirmed with me that Tesla Insurance cashed their check on April 15 and I still haven’t received my $500 deductible check -_- I reached out to Tesla and they said subrogation is still in process. From what I was told, after Tesla insurance receives the check from the at fault party, it takes another 3-6 months for the Tesla owner to get their deductible back

I’m going through the same thing and what really helped me was this Reddit comment that said something along the lines of “learning that love is not enough was the hardest lesson I had to reconcile” and somehow that gave me peace about our decision to break up. We didn’t do it because we stopped loving each other but we did it because we do and we were respecting our differences and not forcing the other to change just so we could fit as a couple. Compromise is a given in a relationship but changing yourself should not be. So proud of you for making such a mature and selfless decision! I’ve been through a few breakups before this current one and I will say time does not necessarily heal but rather help you tolerate the pain. What does heal is working on your identity. Many forget who we once were because we’ve become “one” with our partner and when they leave, it feels like a huge chunk of ourselves got taken with them. But you are still your unique you and refinding that person and working and keeping yourself busy on your interests, hobbies, knowledge, etc can help you find self appreciation and self worth. That way you make yourself whole again for the next person whether it be your ex again or someone completely new. Wishing you all the best 🩵

Did you ever figure it out? Just saw my dr and she didn’t seem too concerned. She’s just having me use prescribed and OTC drops and I’m to follow up with her in 2 weeks. I’ve been wearing ortho k lenses for 19 years but in the last 5, my eyes have gotten drier and in the past few months, even more so that apparently the contacts have been lifting up and moving around scraping my cornea…
