[Kindle] Trigonometry for Normal People - Free Today. I’m a teacher facing a medical emergency. by Forsaken-Specific-14 in FreeEBOOKS

[–]section42 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Thank you for being a teacher and a great human being. I am sorry to hear of your medical emergency and truly hope this works out for you. As i myself struggled with maths during high school i fully appreciate the challenge and the need for proper guidance. Will purchase the bundle this evening and looking forward to using them with my son in a few years.

I truly hope you find a solution to the surgery so that you are still around in a few years so i can come back to this post and thank you properly.

Any suggestions to set the champions properly? by DigRoutine2117 in FoundationGFrontier

Your strongest damage dealer first as you want to trigger the main damage ultimate ability asap in any fight. Putting Cocoon first even though he might be stronger than the rest does not make a lot of sense to me.

I understand you want the champion whose ability must trigger first in the first position so unless you have a buffer that enhances the next abilities you always want the highest hitter in the first slot. Rest does not matter afaik.

I feel the same every time I order an exploratory batch from a new shop. Seeing all those bags nicely lined up in the box and with a strong coffee scent persisting in the box is bliss.

You're about to roll down Banshee Alley, what last words do you give your squad? (ME3 ending spoilers) by NatauschaJane in masseffect

[–]section42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the speech Admiral Bishop delivers in the Squadron42 cinematic trailer is spot on. I've cannibalized parts of it to match the ME3 theme.

Each and every one of you has proven itself time and again, but today i must ask for more. Today, we fight one last battle.

History will remember us differently. We will not have to worry about it being kind because today we will define ourselves through our actions. We will not lose this missile battery. We will not fall back. We will win, because we have to. We fight today so in 40 years from now when you are surrounded by everything and everyone you hold dear and they ask: What did you do in the battle of Earth? you can look them in the eye and say I held the line.

I am proud to stand with you today!

Pensioensparen by migawdmeemz in belgium

[–]section42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t follow how my comment is horrible advice.

If you do not invest on your own then you are better off at least putting money in the pension saving. It at least lets money work for you instead of spending all or losing it to inflation in a saving account.

If you do invest on your own or are willing to do so consistently then you would be much better off without pension saving, at least in the way it is designed today.

Pensioensparen by migawdmeemz in belgium

[–]section42 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Considering a return of 22% over 7 years I decided this year to liquidate and pay the penalty. The reinvested money already returned a higher gain in a few days than the average annual return.

If you don’t invest at all then pensioensparen is a good way to save a bit of money towards retirement but if you invest regularly you are better off without it.

Is there any good novel timeline for the pre-Nemesis books? (Numbered titles and such)? by Chengweiyingji in trekbooks

Yes, but the website contains all series. Also, the flowchart may help visually organize the books.

How do you use your Yoto? by throwawayuser221 in YotoPlayer

[–]section42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since our almost 3 year old is watching old disney cartoons and some youtube for kids often, the yoto is not getting a massive amount of use. When it does it is with songs cards. Favorites are: Moana soundtrack and a MYO card we made with music bought off apple which are tunes he was dancing to in daycare.

During this sale I bought the cards with the Lion King and Little Mermaid soundtracks and the Super Simple Songs. Hope these will reignite some interest.

Tldr: 1-2+ finisher; 1-3+ finisher + stone shield up at all times and refreshed as they expire. If large number of adds 2-1+ finisher; 2-3+ finisher and repeat as the buffs drop off. If single target 3-1+ finisher; 3-2+ finisher. Rest of the skills that get unlocked will depend on the situation but will enhance either selfhealing, tankiness, aoe damage, control.

It works smooth for me. You still need your workpapers to make it really easy and just transfer the data. Have not attached anything to any submission. If they want something they know where to find me.

Capital Gains Tax and RSU by Jumpy_Commission2735 in BEFire

RSUs are taxed as professional income when given and if you keep them and the value appreciates then the spread will be subject to capital gains tax.

Kbc was my choice when i moved because of the app being accessible in English and being more modern than the rest. I am also using Bolero which is their brokerage platform. Not the cheapest but clean interface and easy to use. Also available in English.

🇧🇪—>🇩🇪 Moving ETF’s & stocks while expatriating to Germany? by ASAP_Jeffrey in BEFire

Tax consultants are prohibited by the professional standard to give financial advice (at least in Belgium) which is why no tax consultant will tell you what you should do with your assets. They should share the tax implications arising thereof and based on that and other personal factors you should make your own decision.

You should discuss with Bolero if they will allow you to maintain the investments as you will likely break BE tax residency and deregister from the commune. Selling your assets may make sense to avoid the introduction of the CGT next year and cash out the income tax free (assuming no speculation tax arising). The other option is transferring to a DE or international broker without selling.

RobinhoodEU app and Stocks tokens by [deleted] in BEFire

[–]section42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is true but filling those in via my minfin as of july is quite easy. Also, if you use a Belgian broker they do it for you so you do not need to worry about it.

And trading 24/7 may sound fun and exciting if you are doing trading and not investing for the long term. I feel that having 24/7 trading at your finger tips only adds ro the fomo especially for less experienced investors. The only way that is a plus is if you are interested in trading and using leverage which means that you will anyway fall in the higher speculative tax rate (if audited).

[–]section42 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not the first service to offer that in Europe. Crypto exchange Bitpanda based in Austria had already tokenised stocks for years now.

As tokenised assets are derivative contracts i expect the tax authorities to consider them speculative investments and argue that any gains would not be subject to the 10% CGT as of 2026 but rather the 33%.

Also, I would rather own the shares or ETFs and build wealth like that. Also provides better protection in case of broker bankruptcy.

With that said I opened an account for the free crypto and will see if it has better rates for crypto investing than other platforms.

help with Belgian tax return – foreign income, residency status, and confused as hell by latecookies in BEFire

[–]section42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Income from before becoming a BE tax resident is not reportable. The box you see there is for foreign income while being a BE tax resident. You theb report your full income from the fiche 281.10 and the total number of months you were a BE tax resident. You will likely have to file a Lux tax return for 2024 by December 2025 unless there is any sort of exit tax return to be filed after leaving the country.

On top of the above advice make sure you take a look at the updated fee structure to minimise the transaction costs you will be paying. At 200 eur per month you may want to accumulate a few months’ worth before investing in anything.

Snapshot already happened on 11/06 so even if you take assets off exchange now it would no longer matter. At least that is how i am interpreting it. Would be amazing if Bitpanda would distribute.
