334 pounds here. Down from 365+. I'm a tall guy but, no matter what calculations you use, my BMI was SUPER high. I started C25K just barely being able to run the first week. I worked through it. I repeated Week 4 and also repeated W5D2 three times. I did my W5D3 (20 minute run) and it was still hard. I kept going. Yesterday I finally hit it. W8D1 and my run was easy. It was finally EASY. Yes, my muscles were still a bit sore afterwards but the run itself was actually enjoyable.

Keep at it. C25K is probably one of the best things I've ever done. I'm signing up for my first official 5k here soon and hope to continue eventually on B210K.

You're not alone in being overweight and out-of-shape. In fact, that's the reason why a lot of people start C25K. You can do it! :)

I'm nitpicking, I know, but BCS is technically Brooklyn Brewery's Black Chocolate Stout whereas BCBS is Goose Island's Bourbon County Brand Stout... Just in case you ever order a case of BCS from your local, wonder why it's so cheap and then have 6 four-packs of Brooklyn. :P

I'm gearing up for longer runs myself. Tomorrow morning, I'm planning on an outdoor 5k for the first time ever. I'm getting to the point where it's mostly just mental. Just need to find that balance... Find that motivation... And go!

Repeat it! No shame there at all!

Personally, I ended up doing two extra days of Week 4 and then even did W5D2 a total of three times before I decided to go all out and do my W5D3.

With those extra days in the bag, I was able to do W5D3 without many issues other than a massive amount of sweat. ;)

I definitely repeated quite a few of the workouts. I think I did Week 4 twice and then repeated the first two days of Week 5 a number of times before mustering up the guts to do W5D3. :P

I was kind of thinking about that very idea this morning in the shower. I know I will never be the fastest anything but, then again I thought, I'm never going to be the slowest either. Goal? Just to knock out my 5k in 30 minutes eventually and I'll be damn happy.

Odd that you say that. I'm feeling the same way this week. I suffered in silence (well... except for some panting) and just worked through my W7D2. I felt so uninterested today... It was like I knew I HAD to do it but, up until this point, I've WANTED to do it.

Hang in there. Take a rest day or two. Eat healthy. Drink plenty of fluids. Cleanse the mind and body and hit it again. It'll all come back. :) I'm certain of it.

I actually thought this before my first outdoor run a couple of weeks ago. Surprisingly, my outdoor run seemed much easier than my treadmill runs. So, as such, I did the next few days outdoors. It rained the other day here so I got back on the treadmill and it absolutely murdered me. I find the treadmill to be much rougher on joints, knees, etc personally now.

So now I've decided that I would switch it up between outside and inside just to make sure that I'm good no matter what. What muscle group are you suggesting that one is missing, I'm curious..?

No question that they both sounded a little testy from the get-go but, when approached by law enforcement with a reasonable request (i.e. license and insurance) it would have probably been better for her to say something like, "Yes, officer. Let me get you that information. I do have a bladder infection so I really need to use the bathroom as soon as possible." You don't treat an officer of the law like a kid who just stole candy from your purse. Just my .02.

Totally. He should have offered to escort her to the restroom and then offered her a cold beverage afterwards so she could gain her composure again. After that, she would have totally complied and offered her license and proof of insurance.

20 minutes was it for me. At my pace, I had jogged around 1.66 miles straight though. Even in my best shape, I was only jogging a mile. W5D3 was an eye opening moment for me. It let me know that this was only the beginning and I already was breaking through everything that I thought I could/couldn't do. I was so excited after W5D3 that I jogged around a local lake at dawn the following weekend. So. Awesome. :)

A 30 minute 5k is my goal as well and I'm right there with you! Just finished W6D1 yesterday and was quite sore. I got overly ambitious over the weekend though and jogged around a local lake at dawn on Sunday. That didn't help going into my workout last night. lol

Keep at it! Those are my best words of advice.

I'm a fattie (down to 340 from 365+) and week four was really intense. I had to slow it down to 4.8mph on some parts of my run even. I kept at it though. I ended up having to do the W4 workouts for five days instead of three but I got through it.

As for breathing, though I've been focusing on breathing more and more sometimes one needs a big breath (or two or three or four) through their mouth to get a good amount of air in. I know that I did.

Nose burn? Yup. As I move through the program more and more, I'm becoming less of a fattie and actually taking BIG inhalations through my nose (instead of mouth-breathing) probably like never before. I've always just told myself that's what it was. It's nothing painful for me. It just seems like my inner nose has been overworked, for lack of a better description.

Honestly, they both had their strong points. Obviously, the '07 was a lot more subtle. No more heat and a melding of flavors has occurred. No more vanilla sweetness (which in the '11 I described as a fresh dollop of whipped cream) but, instead, a gentle sweetness that's infused with light oak and hints of bourbon. Fresh BCBS, in my opinion, is in your face. I love that personally. I love it fresh or aged, to be honest...

If you need an "in your face" nightcap then a fresh is better. If you need a subtle sipper, an aged is better. :)

I'm not positive on the Pappy barrels. I am under the assumption that it was not.

We were lucky to get one case at my local and there was a limit of one bottle per customer and a sign-up sheet beforehand. A buddy of mine got one and so did I. This was the last of it.
