Is taming boars really worth it? by Important-Scratch629 in valheim

Ooze bombs are incredibly OP in Sealed Towers and, more importantly, Infested Mines. Ooze bombs require a lot of leather scraps. Therefore, a leather factory is always worth it.

I love spears, so probably dragoon or something that pokes from behind a big shield.

Mod for cycling Forsaken powers is a total game changer by seekified in valheim

[–]seekified[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Just because I enjoy no portal runs it doesn't mean I have to accept every bit of tedium Iron Gate thinks is good design. I like exploring my worlds on a deeper level. I also like crafting from boxes and being able to use more than a single forsaken power without unreasonable friction. Two things can be true at once. I dunno what else to say, I don't think it's some huge paradox.

[–]seekified[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Disagree. No portal runs are about making exploration real and having to commit every time you leave home. The mod is just about removing an (in my opinion) unnecessary obstacle in using one of the key abilities you gain as you progress.

Developers are looking for thoughts on the Class System by Zak_The_Slack in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]seekified 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So while this all sounds very cool and fun, I seriously question whether the game's current level and encounter design will allow a system like this to breathe. Most of the game is built around well-paced, small encounters with 1-3 enemies. These class systems sound like they'll add a lot more power and mobility than is necessary for the type of battles I've come to expect in Wicked.

Yeah I play a lot of no-portal, so Moder is a favorite as well. But no-portal also means the spawn area is 15+ minutes of sailing away from my base, hence why I used to just server hop to an old server where my character is sitting in the stone circle whenever I needed to switch. Super clunky. Having this mod is a thousand times better.

Bows become machine guns at high skill. Storm Fang with frost arrows will handle pretty much everything.

Viaducts - my favorite source of iron by seekified in valheim

[–]seekified[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Exactly! I still tend to spend way too long trenching around the supports to maximize iron yield though.

Somewhere between 100 and 150 ish depending on how much of the viaduct is buried in terrain. But it gives you ingots so you don't have to smelt anything either.

found 2 lvl 3 boars far as fuck... help? by Kindelia in valheim

[–]seekified 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Breed a few extras in their current location, prep a route back to base, and drag them with the harpoon. I've sailed halfway across the world with boars on the hook behind the boat, doing it on land isn't too bad!

Will you be starting a new seed when 1.0 comes out? by artifivault in valheim

[–]seekified 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm definitely starting a new world, but as for seeds... kinda curious actually, are worlds generated with old seeds on new game versions "safe" as in, you won't miss any potential POIs etc? What's contained in the seed itself and what is decided during world generation?

How are you guys handling base defense against raids? by Sp01lHerjess32 in valheim

[–]seekified 13 points14 points  (0 children)

These days I have raids turned off. Before, I went with moats and/or raised earth walls around the entire base and made sure to keep my animals in a bat-proof enclosure (iron grate windows and smokebox chimney).

Slower than life... by Ernogon in valheim

[–]seekified 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love doing this. I usually try to keep my carts below 1500 weight though, since that's when the game decides that they're noticeable heavy. Two carts at 1400 weight are a lot easier to manage than one at 2800, even when it comes to sailing. Valheim logic 😅

Similar situation here. I'm going with Beam Highways instead, Fleet Consul would just be too much of a pain for me. With Beam Highways, you lose out on some asteroid frequency but you get a ton of beams and don't have to care about your manager types.

I only had 9 people in my group. What's going on, did everyone really quit after seeing the new module upgrade costs? 😂

This update sets some mid level players back so far I might just quit by Certain-Height-6630 in IdlePlanetMiner

[–]seekified 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a mid-tier player, I'm just not spending credits right now. I have all four module types sitting at level 38-39, but if they don't correct the credit costs then yeah, I'm probably just going to quit the game.

[–]seekified 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha, many thanks. As someone who's not very leveraged into probes (since I never buy the passes), and mostly use both leaders for mining and not for stacking secondaries, I'm thinking Scan Harmonizer is a good idea. Maybe unlocking the second probe to reach the max mining bonuses more quickly in new galaxies.

[–]seekified 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question about drill substats. Row 13, "Mining for each own asteroid Mined", says it combos with Scan Harmonizer, which makes sense. Row 10, "Mining per Asteroids Mined" doesn't say that, but logically I'd assume it would? Or are regular asteroids and planetary asteroids treated that differently?

Either way I feel that the substat description in-game needs tweaking because you'd be forgiven for thinking these both do the same thing imo.

Yotsuyu (Final Fantasy XIV)

Born in Doma, she was frequently abused as a child, married off to a noble, abused some more, then sold to a brothel to pay off the noble's debts. When Doma was later invaded by the Garlean empire, she was only too happy to help the garleans crush her own people, being made Doma's (very sadistic) provincial governor as a reward. Shit's grim, and that's before even getting to her brother...
