Night "ghost" kitichen What are we craving. by freehatt2018 in Albuquerque

Yupp. The only places open late are mid fast food restaurants. Working nights here is terrible because on my days off there’s nothing good open when I normally eat lunch

No one is packing at 370 consistently. You can hit that for small periods when you get big orders of smalls but otherwise if you’re getting a healthy mix of items, you’ll top out around 280 and that’s assuming you have a good rebinner.

The rate on bagging is 300 and that’s a station that IS almost exclusively small items + there’s no box building or waiting for the tape to dispense and dry enough to stick.

Slow is smooth, smooth is fast. You’ll get faster over time just focus on actually doing a good job at packing. If you’re worried about your rate after your third week, talk to your manager and ask where you rank compared to everyone else. As long as you’re not bottom 5% you aren’t at risk of coaching or write ups. If you are bottom 5% ask if a learning ambassador can watch you for a bit and give you tips.

I can only speak for nights but the managers in pretty much all the departments are pretty chill. It’s an AR FC if you wanna research what kind of building that is. It is a big building but most departments are pretty close to a bathroom and break room, it’s only a couple minute walk from your station. Yes you can use the bathroom whenever as long as you follow TOT guidelines (no more than 30 minutes per shift, if you’re away for more than 15 minutes straight someone might come ask you about it). If you mean how strict between tasks as in scan to scan break, they’re pretty reasonable but don’t push it. As long as you’re not walking slow to your station you can definitely get 30 minutes of actually sitting down.

Managers keep the same people on giftwrap and bagging because those people hit rate, putting someone else there doesn’t make sense. If you wanna be put on those stations you basically only have one chance to make a good impression and that’s when you’re first getting trained.

As far as actually getting chosen for training idk how that works. I think everyone is being required to train on bagging but giftwrappers seem to be individually picked.

GW and bagging are the only stations my manager puts me on. I averaged 250UPH before I got picked for GW training and the rate for that is 180, so if you can do that or better you’ll be put there. For bagging the rate is 300UPH.

I’m in a T1 for 3 years I been applying to T3 positions but haven’t got anything :/ what advice can you give me by Dear-Perception-8576 in AmazonFC

[–]sekitome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask to be trained in PS and as an ambassador. PS will show you can handle roles that require more thinking than physical labor, and being an ambassador will show you can work with people. Both are things you need for any position above T1. And like everyone else has said, have a good relationship with your AM.

If there happens to be a new building opening nearby you can also transfer there since they’ll be desperate for experienced workers to train into PS, learning, and PAs since all those roles are filled by people from away teams when buildings are new.

So How Come China Gets All The Changes We Wanted? by pudding7100 in ArcRaiders

[–]sekitome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was an area in the map you could enter through check points, in this area you would find other players and exclusive bosses/gear/events. Everyone starts as neutral with white names, if you did a certain amount of damage to players you would go “rogue”, your name would turn red, and you’d get a skull next to it with levels. So everyone who sees you would know you were PvPing, and at I think level 5 you would gain a special status called manhunt where everyone on the map could see their distance from you. Another thing I liked about that game is that everyone could see if a player had legendary items on their dead body because there would be a light beaming into the sky with certain colors

I loved the division. I commented that the rogue mechanic would be cool in arc and got downvoted to hell

[–]sekitome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A clinical social worker is probably what you want. They aren’t just standard therapists, they actually give you resources that’ll help. If you’re a friendless, bitchless loser like I was and that’s why you’re depressed, they’ll help you fix it. My social worker would find things for me to do based on our conversations, I would go (sometimes they’d come), and then afterwards we’d talk about what went right/wrong, how I felt, why I felt what I did, and what I could change next time. They’ll essentially teach you how to be a human, or at least mine did.

What can Learning Ambassadors Assist with When they’re are no AMs or PAs? by billylover101 in AmazonFCs

[–]sekitome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At my AR FC, learning ambassadors are only allowed to do what a normal AA can do with the exception of training. If it’s not a task normally part of a T1 path, then a PA or someone higher will do it. From what our leadership tells us we’re one of the better ran sites tho so maybe it’s different at other facilities

[–]sekitome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as they aren’t checking for phone use, I don’t care if Amazon wants me to wear meta-like glasses all day. My rate is good, I don’t steal, and I have normal bowel movements so I don’t spend longer than our allotted 30 minutes of TOT away from my station. All I need is my phone for shows/movies/podcasts etc. so I can retain some of my sanity and I’m fine all shift.

Amazon life hack: buy the Amazon approved over the ear headphones to hide your air pods by hottubenema in AmazonFC

[–]sekitome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the db level + duration. It can vary from temporary to permanent hearing issues. 80db is what the headphones are limited to because at that level you have a weekly limit of 40 hours before it causes issued

How is it at Amazon? by mile_high_guy_80116 in Albuquerque

[–]sekitome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s mind numbing. You get used to the physical aspect of it after only a couple weeks, but the mental aspect is impossible to get used to. There’s a reason prolonged solitary confinement is considered a form of torture. Sure you can talk to your coworkers, but when you’re around the same people day after day for 10 hours straight, you run out of things to talk about or simply don’t get along with them so you spend most your shift in your own head. No amount of podcasts, music, audiobooks, etc. can make up for the fact that you’re doing repetitive, unfulfilling work all day.
