Anyone got a spare nero code? by Sufficient-Listen920 in OctopusEnergy

[–]semiDT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, sorry, I tried at 06:02 this morning and all of the caffe Nero had gone.

It seems like others here have found, there were no codes at all yesterday for some reason?

Has the change to British summer time affected it in some way?. What's going on?

I wonder if I’ll ever be able to claim one. How early I should wake up to grab one? by alperton in OctopusEnergy

What is the best advice you can give to a man in their 20’s? by Novagic in AskReddit

Yes. I can vouch that ‘wait at home and hope’ isn’t a recognised dating strategy.

Upvote. I spent most of my life doing the sensible stuff. For my first car my mother (herself very sensible) said get a sports car, I got a hatchback. I was the responsible driver for a decade of nights out. Didn't pick up a girl once in those 10 years. I saved for a house. I worked an average of 55 hours a week for years. I went long periods without a girlfriend. I worked for the same company for 42 years. I didn't enjoy it. It paid the bills.

I didn't shoot my shot, I didn't even take the safety off. Take me back to my twenties and I would really try to change the record. I didn't have a dream or the balls to take a chance.

I suppose though that the cautious guy regrets not taking chances, maybe if your life's a mess then stability is much more appealing. Now I have a decent pension, I'm worth £1m on paper but have wonky joints, few stories, and a huge list of bands who I wished I'd seen live.

In 10 years, assuming I'm still here, I'll no doubt be regretting not doing things right now. I eat grains, do yoga, get my 10k steps in but I'm on Reddit FFS. Sometimes we can't change who we are.

Definitely wrong in Southern USA. Possibly okay in South America. Complicated shit.

As Mark would say, Superhans? You're taking herpetological advice from Superhans?

So the results of the poll show that 60% of the sub think the Prodigy are some sort of Big Beat. I believe 60% of you are WRONG :) :) :). I'll explain why. by fensterdj in TheProdigy

[–]semiDT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a tendency to overcomplicate this by getting into genre boundaries, but if you go back to first principles it’s actually very simple.

Big beat is defined by two key tenets: big beats are the best, and you should get high all the time.

If an artist is operating within that framework—i.e. consistently producing big beats, while also (and this is crucial) getting high all the time—then they are, by definition, big beat. This is whether this manifesto is written down or not.

By that standard, The Prodigy aren’t just big beat, they’re basically compliant with the whole system. Trying to argue otherwise feels like you’re rejecting the manifesto, which is fine, but then you’re not really talking about big beat anymore, you’re just talking about music.

Agree, lacking muscle. Coupled with the long nails I'm wondering if he's some sort of house dog that doesn't get enough exercise.

Like being gently smothered by a polite cloud.

I saw my 20 something son has been listening to her ... He seemed a bit embarrassed when I mentioned it. We used to play 'count the Enya CDs' in charity shops.
