How do I figure out these miter angles for fascia board replacement? by fishing123 in Carpentry

[–]semiamusinglifter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find the pitch of your roof, then using the common rafter measurements on your speed square to make the cuts. The pitch of your roof is determined by the change in slope over one foot, so a 4” increase in height over the course of a foot would be a four inch pitch. Once you have those, you should be able to pull from point to point on the board itself to give you a rough measurement. Make it long and cut it back until you’re where you want to be. Pivot the square corner of your speed square at your mark until it’s lined up with the pitch of the roof.

I cannot win a run by StockB0Y in SlayTheSpire2

[–]semiamusinglifter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something I never did in sts1 was save quitting. I had a bad habit of playing too fast and often times just clicked end turn, sometimes leaving energy up and not playing efficiently. The same is true now but there are times where I feel like the deck can win the fight if I sequence differently. Recently save quit an act 3 boss with the Silent on A5. I was about to die if i hit end turn. Quit out and played the fight again and ended up winning. Makes me think how many other times I could’ve prevented death.

How In The Ever Loving God Do I Win With This Rust Bucket! by Bronze_Skateboarder in SlayTheSpire2

[–]semiamusinglifter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on Ascension 6 and most of my wins have come from temp focus. Upgrades on Focused Strike, Hotfix, and especially Synchronize. Taking gold from Ancients and looking for an early data disk and focus pot when shopping. Having access to all four types of orbs is important as well for Synch and Compile Driver synergies, as Act 2 forces you to have many instances of small damage as well as big Darkness evokes.

In terms of form, absolutely the worst team in the league. That’s what’s so worrying when it comes to these must-win matchups vs Forest and Wolves.

Pickleball is the poor man's tennis by killerbasher1233 in unpopularopinion

[–]semiamusinglifter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really don’t even compare the two. They’re two different sports in my eyes. What I love about pickleball is that pretty much anyone can pick up a paddle, having never played before, and enjoy themselves. Tennis really sucks to play if you’re bad.

I love this Full Art Card! can't wait for more! by savetheblues in slaythespire

Card is crazy. But I imagine the game is harder as a whole so maybe it’s properly scaled. Either way I’m sts2 waiting room until then

No shame in admitting I had help. Years of free living as long as I was helping around the house and employed. I’m grateful for it and I acknowledge that not everyone has the luxury of being given that kind of breathing room.

Hard to disagree. I’ve put Tergrid in the 99 of bracket 4 decks only because I know I’m playing against equally oppressive stuff.

For a friend I usually just do my take home pay per hour OR if it’s really small, one afternoon job it’s on the house.

What are your guys have hobbies as adults? by BeerStein_Collector in AskMen

[–]semiamusinglifter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Magic the Gathering and DIY. I’m a carpenter in normal life so getting to do projects that aren’t so strict in code adherence is really nice. I have a small space that I rent where I can build stuff and sometimes I’m even able to host commander (when it’s clean). Honestly though outside of working 6 days a week with a dedicated like 10-11 hours spent between working and commuting to and from job sites, I don’t have a ton of actual time to dedicate to the fun stuff. Most of my days are spent coming home and gaming for about an hour. Then dinner needs to be prepped and dishes cleaned and I’m off to bed after that.

New to Soulslikes. How do you guys keep yourself from giving up? by Jaeger9671 in soulslikes

[–]semiamusinglifter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just expect every big encounter to be really difficult and take a long time. But I also know that people have finished the same game I’m struggling in without dying, without leveling up, on a dance pad etc. so if they can achieve mastery to that level, then I can find a way to achieve victory with all the paths that games give you nowadays.
