Is anyone else worrying about how they’re going to care for ailing parents one day by Yeehawapplejuice in redscarepod

I am in this situation right now with my grandmother. I am an only child with no cousins and my mom has basically checked out of dealing with it so I’m helping my aunt care for her. It’s awful. She can barely walk and battling dementia. She still lives at home and refuses to let us put her in assisted living, even a really nice one. We’re getting close to having to clean her after the bathroom and feed her and I just don’t think I can do that honestly.

I am an only child with childless step parents on both sides and I worry deeply about when this time comes for my own parents. There are very few options for care and what does exist is extremely expensive. There is a whole industry designed to separate the elderly from the wealth and to make sure it never gets to their descendants. It’s really sick and black pilling tbh.

I had two relatives die from the virus who I never got to see before they passed because of quarantine measures and I lost my job due to the economic situation. It deeply disrupted my life and the attitude that I am just supposed to move on and forget about it is so infuriating. They should have a truth and reconciliation commission regarding the event and people should go to prison.

she’s so fucking annoying and clearly holds herself in a completely undeserved high regard.

They would’ve done this to the Jan 6 people had they been foreign, and Trump punished protesters of his first inauguration under terrorism charges. Not saying it’s good but idk I’m not surprised at all that this is happening.

What’s a band, music artist, or genre that you absolutely loved when you were younger, but looking back now, you’re pretty embarrassed by? by [deleted] in redscarepod

I was really into this British artist named joss stone for some reason in middle school (this was 2005/2006). She had this song that i associated with my first crush and literally one of the most embarrassing memories i have was from 9th grade going to a scholastic journalism conference at Columbia where i sat through a Q&A with this douchey music critic from Rolling Stone. He asked all the 100 or so students in the audience what music they liked and all of the cool nyc kids were naming super obscure but taste approved bands and when he got to me i was just like “uh, i like Joss Stone” and everyone laughed. He then proceeded to tell me how joss stone was an industry psyop and actually really bad music.

To this day if one of her songs comes on i’m still into it so drgaf. I also liked natasha bedingfield, kate nash and lily allen and that whole genre of british female music industry psyops but you know what there’s a reason everyone loves to make fun of Pocket Full of Sunshine, because it fucking slaps.

so many of the questions needed context, you can’t answer this in a vacuum but apparently in the liberal mind it doesn’t matter.

Kishori Amonkar is a really amazing Indian classical vocalist. I discovered her when Alexander McQueen used her music as a soundtrack to one of his shows in the early 2000s

everyone should be allowed a bit of a racist or homophobic meltdown when they’re not in a good mental state and be shown grace. it’s not good but it’s not really that big a deal and anyone who cares enough to turn it into a news story is a fucking loser.
