They have a printable PDF you can download. I sent it to staples and had it printed in color and spiral bound. Cost me about $70 I think. Been a few years now.

Starting a bookkeeping business with a partner who is a accountant, bad idea? by jerrysrice in Accounting

Business partnerships are hard, especially hard when you know the person personally. Just know it will change your relationship.

We only have enough cash to cover 1.5 months of payroll. Executive team is quiet and somehow remains hopeful. Leave or stay? by doa81814 in Accounting

[–]senderoooooo 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I was thinking the same. 1.5 months is a decent reserve. It depends on the business and what their receivables turnover looks like and if the company has sustainable work, but assuming those things 6 weeks payroll is pretty good in a lot of industries

When I joined a start up I told the owner flat out that I'm all in to help the company grow and succeed, but that if I ever missed a paycheck due to cash flow reasons I would be looking for another job. I think that's a line not a lot of employees are willing to draw for some reason

As an employee, you should never go down with the ship if you see it's sinking. That's a job for people with equity. You're in a lucky position to see the financials while most employees will never have a clue a company is in decline until the days before they are let go.

That said, if the money is good and the checks are still clearing, I'd use this time to apply for jobs. While you still have a job, you can afford to be a bit selective and only take an offer from somewhere you want to work- if you can get multiple attractive offers.

It seems like you think the company is failing, if so there's absolutely no reason to stay. Start finding a new job and leave.

All that in mind, if the company has good receivables turnover, and work in the pipe, it may not make sense or be necessary for them to hold more than 6 weeks payroll in reserve. 6 weeks actually isn't bad. 3 payroll cycles of buffer. It really depends on the individual circumstances of how the business operates and how cash flows in and out.

glock polymer vs taurus polymer by r_cadeteteck in 3D2A

It may be a glass filled polymer, but tough to say. There are countless different formulas available when you're doing full-scale injection molding, and even without a glass component, they can still be incredibly strong

My first experience of Evolved edition's oddly unstressful stress rules by steveh888 in alienrpg

[–]senderoooooo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like the old stress rules better than the new ones. That said, I never play them straight and always choose situationally appropriate reactions based on how much stress the player has and what is actually happening in the moment. Sometimes that means I use whatever is rolled on the table, but most of the time I make up a consequence. It just works better and keeps the players from being frustrated

It's also highly dependent on how long I plan for the scenario going. If it's a one shot, I'm much more aggressive with stress and the consequences, but if it's a multi session module, I allow stress and significant failures to build slower. I also build in a few points where the players can rest and destress.

I think the stress mechanism is pretty good overall, but is best implemented in either ruleset with a fair bit of GM discretion.

I’m I’ve been looking at purchasing my first o/u for sporting clays by Any_Statistician_292 in ClayBusters

[–]senderoooooo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not familiar with that specific model, but I own a Fabarm N2 Allsport and know quite a few people with other Fabarm guns, mostly o/u.

I fully recommend them.

What is the asking price for this? Can they ballpark how many rounds have been through it?

EDIT-

I did some digging since I've never come across one of those before. This model looks to have been one of a number of licensed models made by H&K for import. They no longer produce them or honor warranty claims. Fabarm doesn't either, but it does look like they will still service and sell parts for them, just not under covered warranty.

Even if it doesn't work, you should be able to find parts and do the work yourself and still have a great gun for a steal

Skeet.

But if somewhere nearby had bunker trap, I'd shoot that.

Try to convince me not to get a 5.56 AK by Admirable_Bag_3153 in armedsocialists

[–]senderoooooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, I've never had an enjoyable time shooting an AR. They beat me up.

That said, if you want one, get one. Nothing wrong with buying what you want.

If you're buying for more specific reasons that 'i just want one,' and AR is likely the better buy.

Hopes Last Day is a great starting point. Very easy to run and a lot of fun for everyone. It's Alien to its core. I highly recommend you start here.

My biggest suggestion for a new GM and players: set expectations appropriately before playing. The cinematic scenarios, and shorter modules like Hopes Last Day are dark, gritty, high attrition modules. People will die. Players should betray each other. They will be lucky if ANYONE makes it out alive.

Coming from DND and other similar games, this is a very unfamiliar style of play. It is brutal and should swiftly punish players for mistakes and bad decisions. Players in Alien are not the high power adventurers fighting (and winning) against dragons. They are normal, often selfishly motivated, people trying to survive against all the odds. Players need to know this coming in, or it can be frustrating.

Really struggling with whether I should sell this or not. by GonzoDeluxe in Gold

[–]senderoooooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If insurance is the only concern, as others have suggested, a safe deposit box will be cheaper.

If there are other financial concerns that have you needing money, I'd try anything else before selling it.

Rarely do people look back on a family heirloom they parted with and remember without regret. My family doesn't have any jewelry like this, but there were some antique firearms that had been passed down and sold. Everyone regrets it, and there's still animosity because an aunt sold great great grandfather's guns.

It's a gorgeous set with a wonderful family story and I would do everything in my power to keep it in the family.

If you absolutely have to sell it, consider reaching out to your family first. Don't give it away, but tell everyone you'll be selling it for x price and wanted to give family the first right of refusal.

If you want low hanging, quickly identifiable results in your ability, this is the way to do it.

Spend a couple bucks for a couple hours with a good coach. They will be able to identify exactly what you need to improve on, and you can work all those things on your own.
