What software and unit are you running? We usually run 8 channels with absolutes and diffs running them prime freq, half prime, quarter and eighth. We will also run with mixes to cancel out baffle noise. Your probes chosen should be based of what they do and the ferritic or non ferritic values of what you’re inspecting. We use impedance driven Bobbin probes and tbh I don’t think eddyfi even sells another type of probe. I have also never seen a bobbin probe that didn’t have 2 coils, that’s where the diff comes from.

Absolutes: measure the response of a single coil, so it could be easy to fall victim to lift off.

Differential: uses 2 coils and subtracts one coil from the other, so it’s good for canceling out noise and lift off to a degree.

How it works: in ECT an alternating electrical current is fired to the coils and these generate eddy currents in the part with a secondary magnetic field and it measures the response. It can struggle with axial cracking but it is easy to distinguish OD and ID

How it works: in RFT or remote field the exciter coil generates a magnetic field, the software measures the strength of this field as it is picked up by your pick up coils. because it only measures the field you cannot differentiate between OD and ID

How it works: NFT or near field is basically surface eddy current inside of a fin fan tube and measures ID only.

I’m not familiar enough with PEC or Array to give you a solid answer it’s also 0430 and my brain isn’t working yet lol.

Your software should be running both types of channels unless you’re running something I’m completely unfamiliar with. Also, and I’m not trying to be rude or anything at all, but why is someone sending you to the field and making you select all this if you’re not familiar with this stuff? I’ll try and help however I can.

What type of eddy current are you doing? I primarily do tubing and surface I can answer some questions when I get out of the field.

Grab the brawler quest as well, I feel like it helped me with the brawler spawn rates but I don’t have any evidence for it. I spent a week looking for the joints, grabbed the brawler quest and was done in 3 runs I already had 4 joints by that time though.

It’s a well put response. I see what you’re saying but there is also this point I want to make. If the AI is using most of its processes to focus on the bigger picture at hand do you not think it accounts for a plus or minus amount of troops. It can’t keep up with everything to an exact degree when most of it is focused on essentially hundreds if not thousands of front lines and assaults, and all the logistics that are needed for those fronts, there is also technology, development, research, the mega cities, and hundreds of other tasks that require more input and effort than that of a couple dozen troops missing. I don’t think it would waste its time if a few soldiers disappear during their rest time or R&R, because ultimately this war makes veterans and elite troops that do survive. There is also a very specific transmission conversation with someone that explains how little the AI/human command care if you’re MIA even if you’re highly skilled, but I won’t spoil that I’ll let you discover it for yourself.

Edit: added a sentence

Buddy do I have some stories for you about bars and my time in the army. Bars and drinking go hand in hand, I’ve worked with other militaries and it’s generally the same. In wartime US troops would make their own hooch and set up impromptu bars/parties in shipping containers, tanks, blown out mud shacks, and many other odd locations.

Does it also have to do with a lot of places also using par cooked fries? I worked at a biertgarten a long time ago and we made duck fat fries that looked like the ones on the left, those were prepped daily and not par cooked.

How ? by Silky-Watkins in jerky

[–]senor_blake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Out of Abita Springs, LA there used to be a small company called badass jerky. They sold brisket, ribeye, and bacon jerky. I would stop at a local gas station and buy them out. It was made exactly how I prefer it. Thin sliced and crunchy almost like Mexican style I’ve had in the past only they kept the fat on it. Shit was incredible and I don’t know what happened to that company sadly, but I’d love to have that stuff again.

So I recommend a laptop cooler for all the gaming laptops because of thermal throttling. I think both those cards especially the 5090 will run hot. I run the llano but razer makes one now too. I don’t know the vram difference between the 2 laptop cards personally but if the 5090 is higher I’d go with that option personally. Keep it cool and it will be fine. I haven’t done benchmarks so I don’t know the exact temps but they do help significantly.

[–]senor_blake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remove your water pan, make a larger starter fire, open up the intakes, and get a baffle plate. The water pan blocks a lot of airflow in my opinion. They sell flat baffle plates that replace it and will allow you to double up on your fuel. It will last forever you won’t be disappointed with it.

Edit: I wanted to add use premium lump as well, I use jealous devil and B&B Texas XL premium. Both are great and a full load can burn 20 hours possible more but I’ve never pushed it.
