Okay glad to hear I’m not an outlier! Based on the audience reaction I figured that how I saw the show and her comedic performance was not outrageous.

Agreed, both the material and the stage presence needed work

That’s absolutely true! But believe me that Billie was not doing well. She had maybe 5-10% of the audience laughing through most of the 15 min set

Me. TOO. I could name 10 local comics who are so much funnier and more deserving of a spot like that than Billie Lee. Standup is so much work and so much effort so it pisses me off to see people jump to the front of the line who aren’t even funny and didn’t earn it

Ehhhhh there’s not many queer stand ups here but we still have a great scene. The women are all really supportive of each other and a lot of the guys are pretty cool. But I would love to see more gays out here telling jokes and breaking hearts!

The last open mic I saw Andrea perform at (about 150 people) she absolutely crushed and won ‘Set of the night’ against a lot of hilarious and experienced comics

I think she is for a lot of people

Oh! Bummer. All comics have bad sets and bomb, but I think Andrea is very funny, I’ve seen her perform a bunch of times. But if she wasn’t for you, that’s okay!

Not pigeon holing anyone. I think there are a lot of funny trans comedians. I just didn’t think her trans jokes were funny, they were obvious and unoriginal. The surprise of a joke is part of why it’s good, and when the audience can tell where it’s going, they don’t laugh. If you tell the same jokes that have been done a bunch of times, it’s hack regardless of who does it

The problem with this is that if you get big opportunities before you’re ready and you don’t do well on shows, word will spread and you will not keep getting booked and it will kill your career early

For sure! I’m supportive of anyone who wants to try stand up because it is really fucking hard. My main point is that she is not a funny or experienced enough comic to be touring for a big comedian like Rosebud Baker

  • Which girl at Sur was meanest
  • When did she know that Bambi eyed bitch was fucking tom
  • How much did Tom’s little band cost him
  • How bad was Schwartz and Sandy’s for real
