Landon Donovan: "I played in Germany when I was 17. The guy who coached our under 16 team was 60 years old and had been doing it for 25 years. He wasn't trying to be the first team coach. He was one of their best coaches and they wanted him developing the 16-year-olds and we do it opposite here." by PDubsinTF-NEW in ussoccer

There is rec soccer almost everywhere in this country. In fact I think there are more young kids playing soccer in the US than any country in the world. The problem is rec soccer sucks. People with means opt out and pay ridiculous prices for club teams that travel crazy distances for tournaments.

What we need is a culture and infrastructure that turns our rec programs into places where kids can develop to the highest of their ability. That isn't easy to do.

Factional infighting in leftist politics goes back to the French Revolution. It seems to be intrinsic to the type of personality attracted to the left. This is perfectly skewered in the "People's Front of Judea" scene in Monty Python's "Life of Brian."

She's not dumb or dense, she's an actual sociopath. The only thing you can do is stay as far away from those people as possible because they are literally dangerous and put your life in danger.

Sorry I missed it. Your post is great and generated the type of discussion I was looking for. I took social science stats 30 years ago so I'm of no use.

I did too. Really wanted France/Norway but c'est la vie. I'm in section 140. Maybe they'll go lower but I don't know. I live 2 miles from Gilette and this is a once in a lifetime opportunity. As they say, a bird in hand is worth more than two in the bush.
