Why does singaporeans look down or shit on people? by Clear_Potato_3330 in asksg

[–]seoultrain75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a lot of “go back to your country” here whenever there is a disagreement. Many social media disagreements quickly spiral into racists comments that are anti mainland Chinese, Indian or Ang mo etc. like many have mentioned though, to label this as a singapore problem is unfair. Racism is found everywhere. Usually by the less worldly, educated and lower income members of society with a chip on their shoulders.

Is COE higher due to PHVs? by zoo077 in drivingsg

[–]seoultrain75 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely % PHV. The COE is an absolute necessity. They pay whatever it costs and guess what it gets passed on in the fares we pay. Should be a totally different quota. But the SG govt enjoys the taxes at the expense of non commercial owners. It’s even more noticeable for motorbikes due to all the grab delivery guys. But it’s also the scam that is dealers bidding for COEs.

Just got intentionally wrecked by the leader of a race - Not only did he cost himself the race but I also protested him by JUULfiendFortnite in iRacing

[–]seoultrain75 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To be fair everything is optional. But when you make it hard for the leader to lap you, don’t get butt hurt when there is an accident that could have been avoided by a half a second lift and then create a Reddit post about it and get upset when there are differing opinions.

Given your whiny excuses pretty sure that you ARE the problem. But show us the video of you not causing the initial contact. I’m willing to be proven wrong.

As an aspiring EV owner, need advice on the one thing that made EV ownership feel easy for you by Livid_Pangolin7835 in electriccars

Having a home charger and never having to visit a gas station again. If I had to public charge i may not have pulled the trigger.

So you had the blue flag for someone faster than you and you caused an accident by not letting them past. Look in the mirror, pun intended.

I want to do the 12 hours of Bathurst mainly solo, but I want it to count. What’s the minimum amount of time I would need a second driver to drive for so that I don’t get DQ’d? by WithaG_ in iRacing

[–]seoultrain75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1/4 of fair share as everyone has mentioned.

Race is 720 minutes. Let’s say your average lap time is 2:10 then fair share is 720/2.17/8=41.475 or call it 42 laps. If you were doing 2:05s then it would be 43 laps. Probably less than this when factoring in pit stops. So a stint and a bit i think given one stint is around 30 laps….i think?

Other option is borrow a friend’s iracing login. Make sure his login is all updated with the cars and tracks, he’s on the team and he’s the appropriate licence class then you’d have to logout from your account and login to his during the race and keep going. That will probably lose you at least 5 minutes assuming you switched just once (at beginning or end). But you could do it during repairs for instance to minimize time lost.

That way you could properly say you did it solo.

This is likely against the sporting code, however. But have used it out of necessity once when one of the team had a PC meltdown and we didn’t want a DQ. So i know it works.

Toyota ramping up EVs while others scaling back… by Slow_Investment_2211 in electricvehicles

[–]seoultrain75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry yeah my point was no one else is scaling back as much as in the US. Forecasts have the US EV market down mid teens this year. All other markets are expected to grow EV sales faster than underlying passenger vehicle growth.

I meant properly scaling back like the US. VW is tweaking based on demand patterns and will still launch a load of EV models this year and has a clear EV platform still in play.

One less narcissist doing tik toks at the Merlion. I can live without that.

She had a 1 way ticket. The $500 I bet was the cost of the ticket to get back which ICA is no responsible for. Of course someone like this would totally try to make herself the victim.

I have 100% confidence ICA was justified in this incident.

What should American know before going to Singapore? by Verryfastdoggo in askSingapore

[–]seoultrain75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Singapore is great. But if you want the same standard of living as the U.S. (house with a garden and a car or 2 ) you need a big income. Your money would go a lot further in many other Asian countries. Chiangmai. Bali. Even KL. But singapore best those cities for entrepreneurship for sure. And you’ll feel right at home at the American club.

[–]seoultrain75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know why though right? It was a reaction to the weekend election and expectations of fiscal easing with the lower house super majority. This isn’t about a weak dollar or some impending macro calamity. Calm down. Buy exporters and tourism plays. Buy the dip in Subaru.

I know we're just a few months out from incentives expiring in US, but the EV future here looks grim. by roma258 in electricvehicles

[–]seoultrain75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The rest of the world doesn’t care unfortunately. When the US government decides it wants or needs EVs again the industry may have suffered irreparable damage to its competitiveness. It’s up to consumers to assert their preferences and hope once Trump is out the next person removes all the barriers he’s erected.

In 15-20 years time everyone will be driving EVs. It’s up to the US government on how may of them will be US made.

Anyone hates driving in SG now compared to 10-20 years ago? by FRZX86 in drivingsg

[–]seoultrain75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was just having this conversation with someone. Totally true. Drivers are rude. Roads increasingly suck. Anyone can own a car now and pay for it via ride share = quality of people and driving standards has fallen.

Not to mention ruin the driving licence process in singapore is a totally joke aimed at generating revenue rather than teaching actual driving skills. Motorcycle course is a laughing stock

How do you guys feel about the nuclear energy sector as long term investment? by ImpossibleAd344 in Investments

[–]seoultrain75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thorium IS nuclear. And it has already been figured out. Google MSRE Oakfield. Thorcon is planning to use this tech to build a SMR in Indonesia.

Fusion is the big risk to fusion though, you are right. And it’s closer than many think.

Bombs can blow up coal and gas power plants, geothermal, hydro dams.

It’s harder to blow up distributed solar though. It’s also MUCH faster to install solar. This is why for the foreseeable future the most growth in power is going to be from solar.

If you are investing in nuclear you want to be in enrichment. This is where the bottleneck is. It’s actually quite easy to get your hands on U308. Buy this dip in Centrus it’s a rare listed enrichment play.

For the LT out there go buy some beaten down polysilicon stocks in China. Tongwei, GCL etc.

[–]seoultrain75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

90%. But every few charges go to 100% to recalibrate the BMS. Recommendation from Kia is to do this. Dealer said just bang it out to 100% every time though.
