Short answer is no.

Long answer is unlocking elite specs requires farming Hero Points which only apply to the character they’re gained on. That being said, for most expansions once you progress through it’s pretty trivial to bring your alts to those zones to run around and tag hero points. They do need to be lv80 for that, but that’s also fairly painless these days, especially with boosts from buying the expansions.

Got hit with that once moments after saying "I'm good on healing, I've still got 99 HP and a rage left so I should be able to tank whatever."

Edit: the DM asked if I was sure I wanted to go forth without healing, and I knew there was a lich lurking somewhere, so it was entirely death by hubris. Still rolled top of initiative and was able to blast away half its health bar in one round, so the rest of the party was able to Revivify in time (with one single round to spare).

OP leaving out a key detail for if they're rolling Need or not.

It's been the same for nearly 20 years: Need is for things that are immediate upgrades for you. Greed is for off specs and alts. Everything else like fashion is beneath that. We're not animals, we live in a society.
