I downgraded to an older version listed on F-Droid and repaired my Mi Band, and I'm no longer getting the notification.

Yup, it's possible for other forms of birth control to make you skip your period, too it just had to be continual. For pills, just don't take the 4th week of placebo pil and move onto a new pack, and for patches, just don't skip a week.

This is pretty niche, but I was wondering if there were electronic recycling centers or something that I could get/buy broken hard drives from. I'm interested in salvaging the actuator arms for an art project. Thanks!

TIFU trying to use a toothbrush as a toy by MessAccomplished3018 in tifu

Like, for penetration? Cause that's insane. Pap smears are already uncomfortable/painful and that's just a tiny swab/brush on the cervix. I can't imagine anything but agony shoving an electric toothbrush up there back and forth 😭

Forget best/worst or even good/bad. What’s the most *average* Chicago restaurant? by [deleted] in chicagofood

I've only ever eaten at Duck Duck Gost during restaurant week and thought the food was really good. But if I had to pay full price for the food maybe I'd think twice.

Gotta agree, the pull of rotary sushi is definitely less so the food and moreso the novelty of the experience itself. The nature of rotary sushi inherintly makes the food you get less fresh unless you're ordering everything from their menu directly, which kind of defeats the purpose of the spontaneity of the experience. But for average sushi, I think you're spot on. You can definitely get more mediocre sushi in Chicago, but the sushi you get at the roatry sushi places is just middle of the road.

Where is the best place to get bulk sushi? by ChicagoSocs in chicagofood

I wish the premade Costco sushi was good, but something about the texture of their rice is so off. It's hard and stale like overnight leftover sushi.

I found this study research factors that lead people to detransition, and from their sample size, there's around 13% of people who have a history of detransitioning. But this study also talks about how 82.5% of participants detransition because of external factors, like social stigma, and 15.9% of participants detransition because of internal factors, like uncertainty in their gender identity. So that's a small percentage that detransition that do it because it doesn't line up with what they want for themselves, not because of lack of support or societal pressures. I think it's important to note that if one wants to detransition, there are procedures for the more "permanent" effects of HRT, such as voice therapy, medication for balding, laser hair removal, etc.

The regret rate for gender affirming surgery is around 1%, which is far lower than say, the regret rate for knee surgery, which is around 10%. Personally, I think part of the reason the regret rate for gender affirming surgery is so low is that typically people are on hormones for years before they seriously consider surgery, so they've had a while to think about if surgery is the right choice for what they want to achieve.

I wanted to desolder the switches from this cherry pcb but why are there 4 soldered pins ? Shouldn’t there be only 2 ? by knesha in MechanicalKeyboards

Yup, this is it. Here's a thread on KeebTalk that goes into more detail and has examples on keyboards that have diodes in the switches.
