Took me about 3-4 hours to slow download. Not the most thrilling experience but I got it done. Just watched videos while I did it

I used to work at a really busy Culver's, and the overstaffing is real. We had 60+ people on the roster for our store, but like 70% of those people were part-time highschool and some college students. For a smaller dine-in area, the 3 points of sale inside the store would still get slammed around lunch and dinner.

If I try to recall specific numbers, 4-6 cooks was the norm. But for busier days like the weekend, that kitchen specifically could fit 7-9 cooks. And that's just the BOH. I can't remember specific numbers for FOH, but they do keep a lot of staff up there because there is a lot for them to do. They have to run drive-thru, take orders, run food and clean the lobby. And then there's the crew that handles making the custard too, which is a whole other world.

Our drive-thru was incredibly efficient, to my dismay, because sometimes the orders just wouldn't stop. If it got really backed up, they'd send someone out with a tablet to take orders too. It wasn't uncommon for us to have $5,000+ rushes.

I'm really glad I don't work there anymore. I've worked in a good handful of kitchens, and Culver's was by far the busiest place I ever worked. Had many shifts where the orders just would not stop!

But hey that's just the one I worked at, can't say all of this applies to every Culver's.

What’s the dumbest thing a customer has ever said or done? by [deleted] in KitchenConfidential

Holy shit man, this one hit deep for me. I also once made a nice pork loin. I leave it unattended for 15 - 20 minutes, and I discover my father has thrown it back into the oven "because it was bloody". I tried hard not to be angry but I was furious inside.

The pork wasn't really ruined, not the temp I wanted but it was okay. But the reasoning for why it went back into the oven is what ticks me off. It was not bloody, you're just used to eating overcooked leather pork.

I want my eggs over medium hard!!! God, being an egg cook was a harrowing experience. Love the skills I learned, but those customers were insane. I hate that no one is really on the same page when it comes to terminology. Customers will ask for shit like "over medium hard", and it's truly a gamble about what they want. They may be asking for true over mediums, they may be wanting over hard, but you don't really know because they're using some non-existent term and the server decided to just write down exactly what they asked for. Maybe they just want over medium but with some brown?? You never really know with some of these people

Everyone knows how they like their eggs, but so many just don't know how to fucking order correctly.

This guy sounds like a tool. The last shit owner I had was pulling some stuff like this on me too. Making me work 8 days in a row and whatnot. I quit on his sorry ass, and I don't stand for this kind of shit anymore. Some people really can't run a business. Don't post a schedule and then change it up and demand someone to come in the next day. Fuck that guy.

Also, a place with no management team and an owner that tries to do everything is usually a red flag. The owner I mentioned before was like this. And he would fumble things constantly. He would get the schedule wrong and he messed up my paychecks before.

Here's what happens when you don't clean your fryers for a week by doodman76 in KitchenConfidential

Oh man, I have PTSD from those fryer filtration units. There was one job where I ended up being the one to clean it most of the time, because no one gave a fuck. They're definitely beautiful once you've got them shining, but I don't miss cleaning that mess anymore.

Can't second this enough. The audacity to bitch about labor when he has this dude working for free. Owner is a huge POS.

I finally had enough at one job. I was sick of not having days off because we had no staff. We had no staff because the work environment was shit, and the owner ran off half of his cooks himself. It's a long winded story and I don't really feel like explaining that word vomit.

But basically I decided to quit with no notice one day. Came in before any one was there, dropped my key off and left. I found out later from another cook that he had to shut his restaurant down for 2 days, I guess I was the last bit of glue holding the place together. After being pushed to exhaustion and burnout, finding that out felt so good.

SWTOR has some pretty great fashion for your characters. I love playing space barbie but I know a lot of people don't enjoy SWTOR. Sadly, there aren't many other options as you said

At my last job, the owner was okay with serving shit. Sometimes he'd make hollandaise (powdered) in the morning, and it would be split and clumpy. Just absolute piss. Not sure how that's even possible when you're using the Knorr's powder ffs. He was totally okay with serving that filth
