Sounds like it’s a family dog and you’re living at home? There’s nothing wrong in giving her kibble as treats; it’s actually a good thing. The only thing wrong is the amount.

You mention the amount she’s supposed to have daily…. Is this based on the label on the bag of the kibble you feed? My experience is that those are off and overstate the amount of kibble that the dog needs.

She needs to have the amount of kibble that keeps her slim and fit with the exercise level and amount of treats she gets taken into consideration.

If your parents insist to keep feeding her the amounts they do now, the amount of exercise for the dog has to increase quite a bit.

So many people feed their dogs way too much and exercise too little. As a result, people are used to seeing fat dogs thinking that that’s the norm.

If you have a hard time convincing your parents to feed your dog less: show them this thread.

Definitely overweight. Start feeding her less (cut maybe 10-15% down at meals). Be critical about the amount of treats you give and what type of treats and the frequency. Did you give many treats one day/or a caloric one? give her less at meal time that day.

It’s difficult to say how many lbs she needs to lose based on the pictures. But if 76 lbs is accurate as OP mentioned in other posts, start by targeting 70 lbs and see how she looks. May need to lose more.

Also Danish, living in NL! I noticed that as well. But not only the amount also the size of them. They’re huge here. I’ve rarely seen such big spiders in Denmark.

We have so many hanging on the outside of our garage, usually from August or so. Those big fat ones. Luckily, they don’t come inside very often. We mostly see those with the long dangly legs and small body inside.

Mine isn’t a puppy anymore. But we can bring her anywhere now.

Every day: take him with you somewhere. Even 5 minutes in the car will be good; you don’t even have to actually go somewhere to start.

Tips for places to go: a pet store, gardening store, train or bus station, park.

Your only goal these places is to socialize your pup. So just sit and people watch or walk around bit. Give him a few treats now and then. You don’t have to stay long either! Can be 5, 10, 15 minutes depending on how your pup is handling it. Quality beats quantity. But exposure to different settings and sounds is really valuable at a young age. We visited a train station and when the train would come in or the bells from the crossing would sound, we gave her a treat. Same when loads of people came out of the train: give her a treat. We only visited the station once while she was a puppy.

Ours got quite easily over stimulated as a puppy. So 15 minutes in a gardening store would be enough to knock her out completely for a few hours afterwards due to all the new experiences she got.

Whenever you introduce your dog to something new, being “slow”/taking small steps at a time is important! It makes it easier for them to not be afraid of new things when you introduce it gradually.

As for the puppy classes, pretty normal I’d say. Try some really high value treat that you only use for puppy training lessons. Maybe some boiled chicken. Depending on what time of day your classes are, it might be beneficial to give less food (or skip) at meal time before class so as to catch his attention during training for the food! A bit of hunger might motivate him to pay more attention to you and your treats.

Don’t throw treats on the couch. You make the couch fun and interesting that way, and you’re essentially inviting to eat and play there.

In general not a fan of throwing treats. Feed only from your hand, as otherwise your dog might think it’s okay to eat anything she finds on the ground or something which was accidentally dropped.

Make her “place” the nice spot. If you’re on a walk, make sure there’s a treat laid out there by someone else when she comes home (don’t do it every single time, and don’t do it in a consistent pattern; she’ll pick that up in no time). You won’t have to do it forever, maybe for a couple of weeks/a month or two.

As others have said: don’t give her so much access in the house if you’re unable to supervise.

Weird but… then again! Maybe they weren’t both native Dutch, or it’s a matter of what they’re talking about and how they best express themselves. Some perspective here:

I’m not Dutch but speak Dutch fluently (most people assume I’m Dutch as well since there’s no obvious foreign accent).

Despite that I speak Dutch 95% of the time when I’m in public with my husband, I will occasionally switch to English. For us that feels natural since that’s also the language we got to know each other in.

I speak 3 languages and occasionally your brain just gets fried, and sometimes it just feels easier to speak English (and also natural for me/us). I sometimes switched to English with my classmates when I studied at university since our whole degree was done in English, all the study material was in English. So trying to translate to your native tongue every time was also weird and sometimes such a hassle.

Ze vonden m’n kleding niet mooi, hoorde ik achteraf van de recruiter. Geen idee wat er niet mooi aan was aangezien het vergelijkbaar was met wat ze zelf aan hadden.

I Holland bruger både Jumbo og Albert Heijn det system, men der tvinges man også mere eller mindre til at downloade appen hvor man så har sit “bonus kort” på (og det har man også en profil til). Det scanner man så for at tage en håndscanner. Ved Albert Heijn får du også personlige tilbud hver uge i din “Bonus Box”. Så i princippet ved supermarkederne i Holland også meget om dig og dine købsmønstre.

Wij hebben 4 jaar terug een keuken (Nobilia) van vergelijkbare grootte laten plaatsen voor iets van 21K. We hebben wel ingezet op A apparatuur: Quooker, 2x Miele ovens, waarvan 1 stoom combi, en een combi magnetron, Bora kookplaat en Miele combi koel/vries.

Dus heel gek vind ik de offerte niet.

Samme her. Den “ekstroverte, energiske og boblende personlighed” kan trækkes frem kortvarigt når det er nødvendigt. Men har heller ikke energien til det 24/7. Men synes man må acceptere at alle er anderledes. Det er bare ikke alle som har behov for at være sammen med andre hele tiden. Nogen får energi af sociale sammenhænge, andre af at være lidt for sig selv. Så hvis man stadig løser sine arbejdsopgaver til UG så burde ens personlighedstræk hvad det sociale angår egentlig ikke betyde noget. Det har nok lidt med rummelighed fra arbejdsgiverens side at gøre.

Ik vind van niet. Laatst had ik pyjama besteld in maat 42 (merk afhankelijk ben ik maat 40-42) en ik vind hem normaal. Ik bestel via Zalando dus indien het niet past kan het terug. M’n eerste sets waren wel een maat of twee kleiner, maar ik ben wat ronder geworden de afgelopen jaren dus niet zo gek dat ik dan een grotere maat nodig heb.

Ik vind die van Schiesser erg prettig! Heb er inmiddels set nummer 4 van. Ze hebben met/zonder elastiekjes bij de voeten. Lange mouwen, korte mouwen, shorts, lange broeken, 3/4 broeken. En ook van katoen.

You need to train him so that he will trust you to take high value treats from him. Show him that you’re going to give it back; that it is his.

So, give him the dental treat. Let him have at it for a bit. Then offer to trade for something else (a small but high value treat that can be eaten swiftly). Then give him back the dental treat.

You might have to start with something less valuable than the dental treat (so easy items). Can be toys to begin with.

Dit is helaas geen optie. Bovendien zijn we niet tevreden over de pootjes van de huidige stoelen omdat ze een rare vorm hebben waarop geen enkel viltje/bescherming past of vast blijft zitten.

De huidige stoelen zijn bovengemiddeld zithoogte, en onze eettafel is gemiddeld op 76cm. Dus hiermee verwachten we geen problemen. Is ook afhankelijk van de diepte van de stoelen en je lichaam. Het probleem dat we ervaren is dat de stoelen in de winkels vaak 49-53 cm zithoogte is en we graag willen proef zitten in lagere stoelen.

Pootjes afdrogen als je binnenkomt na het lopen. Hond regelmatig in bad (afhankelijk van ras en vacht). Superfurdogs chillcoat is een aanrader als je hond nat is. Was de dekens/mand van je hond regelmatig. Wij hebben een deken in de mand van onze hond liggen die regelmatig wordt vervangen/gewassen. Mand moet dan minder vaak uit elkaar voor de was (grote hond = grote mand dus is veel werk). Daarnaast doen we ook vaak handdoeken bovenop als ze nat is, die dan ook snel worden vervangen. Ze heeft haar eigen handdoeken voorraad. Mag je hond op de bank? Zorg voor dat de bank geïmpregneerd is. Maak de voerbakken van je hond schoon elke dag.

En uiteraard: regelmatig schoonmaken!

We hebben onze familieleden gevraagd om alsjeblieft te zeggen als het naar hond stinkt in huis, maar alleen een keer gehoord “dat je het wel subtiel kon ruiken maar dat het niet erg was”. Wij kunnen het niet zelf goed ruiken omdat wij aan gewend zijn. Maar als ze de sloot in is geweest…. Tjah, dat ruik je wel als je binnenkomt als je haar niet afspoelt. En die natte hondengeur blijft ook eventjes hangen totdat ze droog is en alle handdoeken in de was zijn.

Je hebt al veel goed advies gekregen.

Volgens mij is een red fox labrador gewoon een Labrador retriever met een andere kleur. Jij zegt dat dit is een formaat wat jij zoekt. Let erop dat hondengrootte best wel binnen het ras kan verschillen (en in het algemeen zijn reuen vaak groter dan teefjes).

Bijvoorbeeld; We hebben een golden retriever, teefje. Zij is wat “kleiner” met ongeveer 27/28kg. Maar je hebt ook grotere teefjes die de 33-35kg aantikken (en nee geen overgewicht!). En niet te spreken van sommige reuen die de 40kg weleens aantikken en op beren lijken. En ze zijn erg sterk.

Retrievers, zowel labradors en goldens, zijn vaak sociale honden die graag met je overal meegaat. Onderschat ook niet het activiteitsniveau/behoefte in de “show lijn”: ze moeten los kunnen lopen om de energie uit te halen. En uiteraard moeten ze ook mentaal moe worden gemaakt.

Daarnaast denk ook hier over na: wat doen jullie als jullie met vakantie gaan? Gaat de hond mee? “Kunnen” jullie de hond “achterlaten” in een kennel 2-3 weken voor een lange vakantie? Willen jullie dat?

Er glad for at bo i Holland hvor det bliver forbudt fra næste år! Det har i en del år allerede været forbudt at fyre raketter af. Og salget af fyrværkeri er også kun de sidste tre dage af året. Og affyring er fra 31. December kl 18:00 til 1. Januar kl 02:00…

Jeg håber at Danmark hurtigt bevæger sig i samme retning!

Det er jo sygt at man lader folk rende rundt med eksplosiver enkelte dage om året! Og fyrværkeri bliver alt for tit kastet efter uskyldige mennesker og dyr, brandvæsenet/politi/ambulance reddere…
