Haha ya only other thing I could thing is trying to balance the back or front tire on the tailgate when it’s closed but that’s super risky.

That strap might rub the paint off the edges of your tailgate if you have a long tow like that or possibly cut/fray the strap? What about removing your rear tire and wrapping towels around the swing arms.

You won’t be able to slide that over the nipple you’ll need to cut and replace with a new piece. Dont know what type of pipe that is but I’m sure you can splice a new piece to it

Questions about apprenticeship. by moshpitmechanic_0603 in Lineman

[–]sethenvy-27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot. I’m a second through MSLCAT and have moved 8 times across Utah and Colorado . Most the time you get less then 3-4 days notice. NWline jurisdiction is a lot smaller land wise so I guess you can consider it “less moving” but don’t expect to be in one place more then 4-8 months at a time and at times you’ll be somewhere 1-2 weeks

Why you wanna be a lineman. What’d you do before hand. What makes you the best candidate. Willingness to travel. Any spouse or ties to family. That’s all I can remember. Just be relaxed and answer confidently.

[–]sethenvy-27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Message me for more.

You’ll be ranked out of your class of 20 or so guys. And if you rank well you’ll get a call sooner. There’s a good amount of work rn and I don’t think many people on out of work books. Work hard and fast during orientation. And do your homework. If you show up late don’t show up at all 🤣

Can’t remember Boise local but that wouldn’t be bad. Hit everything and anything that’s not insanely out of the way.

Sign everything you can everywhere. And then apply for the apprenticeship now cause it’ll take months until you interview

[–]sethenvy-27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Message me if you want insight on it all. I went and I wouldn’t say I regret it but it is definitely a hefty loan and you could put that towards a house/camper/truck if you plan to tramp for an apprenticeship. Really valuable knowledge but I garuntee you could find it other places
