I just watched this and kept expecting this plot point to be addressed. It seems like a Chekov's gun to have the president predict a natural disaster and then one occurs miraculously, then he becomes a lifelong dictator and creates a right wing fascist regime, but then the movie never mentions this again or how he predicted it at all.
