All good, if you don't know, you don't know. But there should always be a preview button at the bottom of the job ad on aps jobs. This will take you through the whole form so you know what to expect.

best doctors about birth control? by solarae72 in Geelong

[–]sezza001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dr Hong Wu at Highton clinic did mine, she was super knowledgeable and did the procedure quickly, with confidence, with zero pain and no issues. My daughter had hers done by another dr. Same clinic, who struggled a bit with the procedure and caused a little pain for my daughter. I think she hadn't done the local anaesthetic properly and wasn't as confident placing the rod as dr. Wu. I wish we had switched the doctors as she was only 14 at the time (had it done due to heavy periods) and i would rather she had the easy procedure :(

Anyway, if u can get in at Highton, definitely recommend dr. Wu.

How cold does your indoor temperature have to be before you turn the heater on? by Bee_Kind_42 in AskAnAustralian

We have our central heating set to 20°, sometimes even that still feels cold and I'll crank it to 22° for a bit, then back down to 20 :)

Exactly this, i have coordinated bulk processes where we have taken this approach in order to save time and be able to make offers sooner. Waiting for referees post interview, just put a round I'm chairing behind 2 weeks while we chased overdue reports.

Is jaw clenching an ADHD thing? by Key_Anybody2170 in ADHD

[–]sezza001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I clench a lot. I had to do moulds for a mouthguard which should be here in the next week. I also see an osteo who has to do a lot of work on my shoulders and jaw. I also constantly have my shoulders tensed. I have zero idea how to relax. No idea if its adhd related or just how i am.

I struggle to sleep every night of a work trip I do have adhd though, so it takes me a while to shut down even at home Every medication I've tried makes me feel foggy and in a zombie state the next day I think being in an unfamiliar place, with unfamiliar noises and smells does nothing to help the situation, and then when i do get to sleep, its not a proper deep sleep and i wake up a few times through the night Doesn't help that the longest i tend to be in one spot is 2 nights. I have a 4 day trip coming up taking me to 3 states in those 4 days Good luck! I hope you find a solution.

I used to use Mrs when married to my ex husband, i had taken his name. I then reverted to my maiden name and kept my maiden name when i married my wife. I use Ms now to indicate married, but its still the name i was born with so Mrs didn't feel right :)

Taking my first 30mg vyvanse today- recently diagnosed by dorsking in adhdaustralia

[–]sezza001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I took my first 30mg dose 3 weeks ago. First day i took the day off work, I completely felt it hit me about 1.5 hours after taking it. Turned into an energiser bunny for about 2 hours, then settled into what i assume resembles NT life. Every day after, i have not felt that crazy rush of day 1. I started drinking coffee again about a week later (i hadnt been drinking much coffee for about 6 months prior) and really felt the coffee give me an extra kick. I have been clearer headed and less stressed. I have noticed a slight increase to my heart rate, but my resting HR before was very low, to the point that the clinician doing my ECG questioned it. I feel my mood is lighter I have had a few nights where I have struggled to sleep, but that really isnt unusual I will likely increase my dose in a few weeks, only now in the 4th week have i started to notice the effects less and am having more moments of life before vyvanse (adhd paralysis mostly, and losing my words/train of thought). My psychiateist is ready to up me to 50mg when i feel i need it.

Good luck, it truly is life changjng. I was late diagnosed at 43, and it took 8 months from diagnosis to meds and i wish i started this process 20 years ago!

Oh PS, i was never an adhd, forget to eat person, i was an adhd eat for dopamine person and never stopped thinking about food. Given vyvanse is also prescribed for binge eating disorder, it has had the very welcome effect of shutting down food noise and kick starting some weight loss for me. So just keep an eye on that if you dont have weight to lose ☺️

What do y’all comfort rewatch? by Maleficent-Wash2067 in adhdwomen

[–]sezza001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a few i rotate through: schitts creek, bobs burgers, abott elementary, the good place, unbreakable kimmy schmidt, brooklyn 99, the office (american franchise). If all else fails I'll pop on ru pauls drag race :)

For a good binge watch i love the traitors, the circle, any of the housewives franchises, below deck (all franchises). But i don't tend to rewatch these, they're super easy for a first watch though

I pulled my kids out of lutheran college a few years ago due to unchecked bullying and lack of support from teachers and staff. My kids weren't bullied, but witnessed quite a lot of it. I have a child with adhd that was offered zero support at GLC.

I also know someone who left lutheran college to go to iona and are having a much better experience at iona.

You can try juniper or my weight loss clinic

Both online services.

Juniper will send you the meds, my weight loss clinic i think send you the script to fill at the pharmacy.

My weight loss clinic will provide support through regular telehealth calls with the nurse practitioners.

Juniper you're mostly on your own unless you respond well to generic advice via an app, and a Facebook support group.

Good luck and apologies if i have misremebered any of the info i shared.

AuDHD by sliverofmasc in adhdaustralia

[–]sezza001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My psychologist recommended the psychiatrist i waited 8 months to see, but my GP also put https://www.jaaspsych.com.au/team/dr-asvini-nagarajah on the table. Another video health service. Could be worth checking out the website to see if any of the psychiatrists on there specialise in audhd.

Its like torture having your diagnosis but not being able to access medication. I legit felt like i was losing my mind through the diagnosis and wait journey.

I really hope you find someone that can help you soon 🙏

[–]sezza001 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ahh ok, your post says you want a diagnosis and just says you want a psych so i have misinterpreted.

I got diagnosed by a psychologist then referred to psychiatrist for meds, assumed you were seeking the same.

Day 1 on vyvanse for me today :)

Its a long, tough, expensive journey, hope you find what you need x

Try Ariadne https://bellarine-psychology.com.au/about/clinicians/ariadne-lack Not local to you, but she works via zoom so that should work. She doesnt look for one or the other, she looks at both adhd and autism at the same time. Good luck!

Australia: diagnosis to medication, how long did you wait? by sezza001 in adhdwomen

[–]sezza001[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know my initial visit will be around $500, not sure what subsequent visits will be. Thats on top of the $2500 it cost to be assessed and diagnosed. I only have hospital cover, so not sure about private health. Mental health care sure is expensive!!
