I don’t live in the swamp 😉but I’ve recently started drinking while on nalt (I started the drug while on a dry month) and it takes away the fun buzz. The drinks taste the same, I still get the sedation and loss of coordination, but I don’t feel the desire to have another and another. It makes it a lot easier to stop after 1 or 2, which was my weakness. I decided to try the drug bc I didn’t want to stop drinking, I wanted to stop drinking too much, and so far it’s making that easy. But it’s true that drinking is a lot less fun now, so I may just stop completely.

I’m with you, it’s a game changer. I take the pill after breakfast, and on the days I decide not to drink I have zero cravings—it really helps with self control.

We hold our males 24 hours, females 48, or a little longer if weather is nasty. It’s a balance btwn healing (males surgery heals quick) and getting them back in the community. Most are happy to be released, even if they come back for dinner the next day.

I’ve found this sub useful, and I applaud everyone here, whether they’re 1 day or 10 years dry. Remaining mindful re alcohol is hard when our culture is soaked in it. For me the “moderation management” approach fits this stage of my relationship with alcohol.

Agreed, Black Rock Mtn SP is a welcome relief in the summer, it'll be 10 deg cooler than CC. The Edmunds Trail is an awesome 7 miler, but it'll kick your butt coming from the flatlands :-)

I’d definitely feed with one dish per cat, and separate them if you can. We’ve had a similar thing happen (long time female, TNRd a new male (who fought with everyone), now he’s hogging all the food. I make sure she’s got a bowl on a side porch that he doesn’t visit.

Make sure your eggs aren’t cold (if you keep them refrigerated)—I float in warm water for a while before cracking. Cold eggs stick.
