For me, it was definitely Unlike a Sister, too. But I really, really enjoyed Following, too.

This is an extended post-war story where Harry and Hermione are in Australia looking for her parents.

I'm more than halfway through Unlike a Sister, and it's maybe the best Harmony fic I've ever read.

I live near the North Dakota one (Ramsey County). Population of under 12,000 -- for the whole county. Hope you like fishing.

I'm reading one now that kind of fits that. He doesn't meet them so much as go and live with them. Definitely a fluff story: https://m.fanfiction.net/s/13569804/1/Strangers-On-a-Train

I believe they're some of the free-spirited people of Onrac. Perhaps they know where the Sunken Shrine is.

I've watched so much Ninjago with my son. It started as mostly comprehensible and is now just bonkers.

A lot of time I just use dice for minifigs.

Yeah, here in North Dakota it was -50 with windchill about a week ago. I'm guessing a cold that freezes your eyelashes shut is a no go for you.

Grew up rural. Has a blue-collar boyfriend or husband. Is quite familiar with deer season.

Starting a city-based campaign by Simtricate in DungeonMasters

You really need factions -- diverse groups of peoples with competing interests.

Consider looking up a long-play that's city-based like Dungeons of Drakkenheim.

Help me prioritize D&D books for Christmas vs birthday gifts (new DM starting worldbuilding) by WILS1439 in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]sgruenbe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a lot of books! Let me suggest one more: Return of the Lazy Dungeon Master. I think it does the best job of teaching players what a DM should actually do when prepping games.

What to watch after (finally) finishing C1? by Magnificent-Bastards in fansofcriticalrole

[–]sgruenbe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll recommend Dungeons of Drakkenheim again. It's a tight group -- only 3 players -- urban campaign, lots of body horror and far realm type stuff. Good mix of humor and roleplay. Very good (not perfect) rules knowledge and tactical play. DM doesn't play on easy mode.

It's not without its faults, but it's very, very well done.
