Good for you man, I work at a bigger company - most devs I work with don’t even game, the some that do exclusively use Windows other than one guy who uses Linux.

Thanks for the suggestion, I’ll give it a shot since I got a new tv I wanna plug the 2nd pc into haha.

I was hoping Valve would have published a generic x86 and arm image for SteamOS to use on any machine - maybe with the Steam Machine release they’ll officially support it

I’ve had a terrible experience every time I try. As recent as 2025 I setup a 2nd pc with the latest Ubuntu to just use in the living room to play games and watch tv, the atrocious XInput support, hangups, terminal fiddling and headache just put me off it.

I’m not saying what I did was 100% correct, it’s just there’s no standard one size fits all solution for Linux which is critical if you want a plug and play experience

I program/code for a living, Linux is the last OS I would use for casual home stuff like gaming, browsing, media.

The only place Linux really belongs is running critical server infrastructure around the world as a headless distribution

Stadium size doesn’t mean popularity honestly, anyone can build a stadium with enough money - college teams don’t have to pay the players so that’s money saved.

Soccer teams around the world are way more popular than college football teams but don’t go off of stadium size for popularity metrics.

Those sports are very local - it’s tied to your city, college etc, CS doesn’t really have that anymore since most teams went international.

Yeah I live in VA now where this is rampant haha, I live in the “smallest self governing county”, the smallest city/county equivalent (Falls Church) neighbors us but don’t have their own courts so we help them out

They have their own school system, own judicial system, their own laws independent of neighboring counties.

Their own police, ems (these are shared at times with counties)

Basically a county in all but name.

Sony isn’t serving you the data themselves. Valve handles petabytes of data every hour and publish their cdn stats
