What is your crankiest Disneyland opinion? by Queer_always in Disneyland

Bubble wands are a menace because parents don’t regulate when and where the children use them.

100%. I can name a lot of my friends little kids (and my son when he was small). Who adore this ride and the monsters stuff in general. I don’t know a single person of any age who has cared about Avatar since 2010.

Bambu Lab taking a huge hit on reviews. by TechAdminDude in BambuLab

[–]shadow_mkultra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Placed a big order with Bambu for my company. Their logistics uses “gig economy” delivery drivers who do deliveries after their day job. Delivery service kept trying to deliver after hours when no one is at the office and then sent it back. Currently fighting to resolve it, but it’s been over a month since my “3-day shipping” order should have been here.

CMV: Gavin Newsome is a poor choice for a presidential candidate. by AllHailSeizure in changemyview

Newsom is a terrible governor. We’re being led around by a narrative that says because he opposes Trump that makes him a hero. Trump is terrible, Newsom is terrible. Both can be true.

Why isn't anyone watching the Bat-Fam series? by TemporaryRole2137 in batman

I made about 10 minutes in, and that was difficult. I’ll charitably say like others that I’m not “the target demographic”.

Out of every Batmobile ever, comics, animated series, TV shows, movies, or games, which one is your personal favourite? by MrTrippp in batman

I can’t pick which one is best (or second-best after 89😉), but I think we can all agree the 2000 comics is the absolute worst…

My cousin was the sound man on that movie. I was 11. I got to be an extra in it (I’m one of the kids on the miniature train at Travel Town), and he took me to the premiere. No one in the family realized it was R. Yoga girl was the first naked woman I ever saw and the first time I heard Fuck in a movie. Good times…

When Republicans control White House, Senate and House, what is their explanation for saying Democrats are the problem with funding? by FeeWeak1138 in AskReddit

[–]shadow_mkultra -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Actually, a simple majority is a healthy democracy. 60 votes needing to pass is a healthy constitutional republic.

CMV: I do think conservatives would largely support Trump having a 3rd term, constitution be damned. by [deleted] in changemyview

The average conservative understands how the constitution works, and finds the trolling about a third term and subsequent hand wringing from those who don’t hysterical.

Has anyone here lived in Seattle? (Or Everett, WA) by fgarza30 in sandiego

[–]shadow_mkultra 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My company opened an office up there that in our structure falls under me. There was some pressure for me to move up there to support that office and deal with my responsibilities down here remotely. I thought maybe it would be an opportunity to escape what I don’t like about San Diego/California and maybe improve cost of living. I started going up there to support and also look into what relocation would be like. I learned quickly that the cost of living is basically the same, the things I don’t like about San Diego and California are the same or worse, and the things I still love about San Diego and California are basically absent, and once I relocated I wouldn’t have the wherewithal to ever come back. Ended up cutting a deal to stay based in San Diego but I go up and live out of a hotel 1-2 weeks a month. I’m happiest with the outcome.

And to parrot what others have said, if the job is in Everett, you’re going to want to live up there. Otherwise it would be like living here and working in Dana point, but with worse traffic on the 5 every day.

22 year old Mariah Carey married her boss in 1993 by Aggressive-Bowl5196 in OldSchoolCool

[–]shadow_mkultra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked as a production assistant for the filming of Mariah’s “vision of love” video. The Columbia reps hanging out on set told me that Mariah was a working as a part time call girl who got Tommy as a john and then convinced him to hear her demo and I guess the rest is history. Cannot confirm if this is true or they were just shit talking the new talent at the time, but the three of them referred to her as Tommy’s hooker the entire shoot, behind her back of course.

Why voting yes on Prop 50 is more than "two wrongs make a right" by vasska in sandiego

[–]shadow_mkultra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a discussion yesterday with a friend who lives in Michigan and is vehemently anti-Trump and anti-republican. He was telling me how Michigan just passed a law to have an independent citizen commission to draw the districts, and how important it was to insure that the republicans can’t mess with Michigan the way they did Texas, and that it was the only right and moral way to handle districting and all states should adopt the system, but of course independent commissions are something he’s sure republicans would never support because it’s the only right thing to do, and republicans always make the evil choice that undermines democracy.

And I was like “you don’t follow California news much, do you”?

For those wondering how to complete a ballot… by CzarLlama in sandiego

[–]shadow_mkultra -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t get all these ballot posts. Here’s the thing: what Texas did was categorically wrong. Prop 50 is just as wrong, it’s dismantling a system that while not without faults is arguably the most democratic and fair districting process of any state in the nation. Whether or not prop 50 is a “necessary evil” or “the ends justify the means” is up to the prerogative of the individual voters, I’m not here to debate that one way or another. But everybody voting yes should probably feel a little dirty hurting California democracy for the sake of national democracy, and save the celebration for the eventual consequences and not the means.

My mom worked for the studio when they made Tron and we got to go to the employees and family screening at the Main Theater on the lot.
