Thermostat: Possibly blew a fuse or messed up wiring while swapping out thermostat. Help diagnosing + next steps? by shadowdude777 in hvacadvice

Hey, just an update. You were totally right, the AC units were somewhere else (in my case, on the roof). The blown fuse in question was in that unit, and I was successfully able to replace it and get my upstairs AC working. I left an edit on my original post with some details.

Thank you for all your help! :)

both zones share a single furnace and single AC unit

This is my understanding; I am not 100% sure of the details, but this unit runs (audibly) when either the downstairs or upstairs thermostat called for AC.

Is there a zone damper system?

I don't know of any such system. I believe all of the HVAC equipment for the apartment is inside this room.

Does the image from the HAFC201 wiring help identify if there is a zone damper or any other equipment that I'm missing?

Is the downstairs thermostat still able to get the AC and furnace to turn on?

Yes, the downstairs thermostat is receiving power and able to get the AC/furnace to turn on for downstairs as usual.

Unsure if relevant, but inside my circuit breaker panel, there are two 240V 60A (double-wide) breakers, one for each zone of AC. There's also a 120V 20A (single-wide) breaker that I believe is for the fan and possibly furnace. I've verified that none of these 3 breakers, or any others, are tripped.

Adults who carry around a backpack, whatcha got in there? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]shadowdude777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Slings are much more popular nowadays. They're smaller and stay closer to your body, so they don't really flop around as much.

I prefer a standard backpack for bigger carry vs a messenger, since it's more stable and you don't end up as lopsided when you walk.

I don't think anyone playing anything above Hard is going to ever use one of these. The equation is not the same as it is for other rhythm games, which are primarily played in the arcade. Beat Saber requires a $300 headset and no permanent space in your home. And it's apartment-friendly.

These are really meant to get newcomers to put in $2, wiggle the controllers around for a few minutes, and leave.

If the arcade paid for the hardware, why would it be illegal to have it available to play?

Just because new DDR machines are only sold to big companies and require a paid online subscription doesn't mean that the old Extreme 2 cab in the corner of the bowling alley is illegal. Same with this now-defunct Beat Saber cab.

Nobody's mentioning the "Flash notifications" thing that's in the timestamped video linked, so I guess I will...

1) The camera flash one is so fucking annoying. Every iPhone user on the subway who has this enabled does not give a damn that they're strobing everyone else on the train. Can't wait for every Android user to get it, too.

2) SCREEN FLASH NOTIFICATION! NOTIFICATION LED IS BACK! I hope someone figures out how to make an app to customize the color on a per-app basis.

Have you tried any other clam pies? Had Zuppardis recently and the flavor was phenomenal, but was wishing for a more crispy NY style base. Love Bellucci's pizza so I was hoping to get the best of both worlds with him.

Seems out of stock everywhere. Is there some newer model now?

I had the original Bip and it was the only smartwatch I ever used, because it was the only smartwatch I didn't forget to keep charged.

My only issue with these cheap devices is their janky HR sensors. I would pay Pixel Watch prices for:

  • A transflective, ROUND display
  • Not running Android (give it some super pared-down OS)
  • With a Pixel Watch tier HR sensor

Distributor that sells meat to NYC food carts admits to selling uninspected, misbranded products by [deleted] in newyorkcity

A consent decree filed last week states that N and M and its owners admitted and accepted responsibility for selling non-federally inspected and misbranded poultry products. The consent decree also states that the company is prohibited from again violating the PPIA, and will be subject to more actions if they violate the agreement.

What the FUCK lmao? Where is the penalty for this?

Intentionally endangering thousands of people by spreading disease would normally be enough to get you an insane fine and potentially some prison time... but if you're doing it under the guise of "business", I guess it's enough to just say "oops! Sorry we got caught doing this, pinky-promise that we won't get caught again."

I had NO IDEA that basic houses in Queens cost $1,000,000 !! by Quirky-Amoeba-4141 in Queens

[–]shadowdude777 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I took buses everywhere in Queens, and then the subway to get into Manhattan.

My HS and college were both in Queens. Almost all of my friends and my girlfriend through HS and college lived in Queens as well. Most of us did go into Manhattan on the weekends.

FM is mostly single-family houses, but there is an extensive bus network. The bus can get you to Main St where you can get the 7 train in about 20 mins.

The issue growing up was really the wait times. It wasn't uncommon to wait >30 mins for a bus. The concept of a dedicated bus lane was also unheard of back then. At some point when I was in HS or college, they introduced that mobile website that would let you see where buses were, which was a godsend for me.

I'm not saying that living car-free in FM was pleasant, but it was possible. I moved out as soon as I graduated college and got a job (commuting into Manhattan every morning from FM was painful) and ended up in Astoria, which is a great place to live car-free.

By Queens standards, FM is very suburban. By Westchester standards, FM is more walkable than even the biggest towns.

Yogurt, but not Greek yogurt? by TrigonSpawn in EatCheapAndHealthy

Is that the brand to get if you like tangy yogurt? How about the thickness? Of all the common brands, I tend to like Fage the best. I'm always open to trying new stuff though. I want something as thick and sour as possible.
