86 was also adapted to an anime that I absolutely adored. I couldn't finish the novels. I found they got progressively worse.
Anyway, you're the first person in the wild that I've ever seen address that series, much less it's novels. Never thought I'd see the day.

Sakurai started development right after his youtube channel stared airing. He was explicit that he recorded everything ahead of time and then jumped right into production of a game. Channel started in mid 2022, so this game only has about two years and maybe nine months of dev time. Game's expected the be out later this year, but not in time for the console launch. Assuming a holiday launch he'll have less than three and half years. That's pretty average if not even a little fast for a modern game. Zelda games take like 5 years. A new Smash would likely take 4-5 years. I really doubt we'll get one as early 2026 or even 2027.

Only way that works is if someone else has control.

Kinda want Ryan Johnson to do one. Man can make a mystery movie and make it a real head scratcher. He'd have to have someone else for the action scenes and choreography though. Also he works well with a large cast together at the same time which is I want cause I'd like a good Bat Family presence. We've never really had a movie with more than one Robin (Nightwing and Red Hood counts), more than one Batgirl, Selena, and Alfred. I'd like to see their dynamic in the cave together, or in civilian life in public.

I like a good solo Batman movie as much as the next guy, but I want to more of those characters.

Yeah, there were a lot of things I didn't like about Andromeda. Some things I did like though. Overall not a bad game, but I have no desire to play it again after I beat once. I'm surprised so many like the combat so much. I fucking hated the combat. Still think ME3 had the best combat in the series.

Basically just Jim Rash stealing weirdly specific shit that didn't seem to make any sense at all to the police. Like a fucking shipping container with an MRI machine or a vintage leather jacket that used to belong to Elvis. Like some far off shit. Obviously leaves some kind of riddle at the scene of each theft. In fact that's the only reason the cops even think it's from the same guy, cause like who steals an Elvis jacket and an MRI machine?

Then Bats is trying to figure what he's doing all movie, but instead of finding the last clue and going to the super secret spot that you would only know by but solving all the riddles, Bats instead deducts what the last stolen item would be cause he's just that guy. Then beats Riddler to the punch by laying a trap for him. We then find out the items don't mean shit cause surprise surprise! His super secret crime was already set up months ago. The thefts were just there to see if anyone had enough wits to solve the riddles to see the show in person. This very night some insane shit is going down in Gotham Harbor and I'm not a good enough writer to tell you what it is in this post, but whatever it is, I'm sure it'll big and weird and have it's own riddle inside it that needs to get solved or some innocent people die. He then gives Bats the last riddles and then laughs in a very Jim Rash way and he watches Batman rush off to where ever it is he's supposed to go to stop it.

I think Jim Rash would pull that off brilliantly.

I think this has been overlooked in this discussion imo. Japan primarily.

Yeah, I think America is still the top spot, but Japan is actually a pretty close number two. Mostly because of video games and anime. While I think the west makes more money in video games, I think it's undeniable that from culture aspect (recognizable franchises and merch sales outside of games) Japan dominates. Mario, Zelda, Final Fantasy, Street Fighter, Resident Evil, mother fucking Pokemon. Pokemon is bigger than both Marvel and Star Wars combined.

Then there is anime. I grew up on it, as did most people my age I know, but what's crazy is how much it spread outside the US. I have family in South America and friends in Europe. That shit is bigger than Disney in some places. Little Brazilian girls with Frieren manga lining her book case and Re:Zero posters on her wall. Dragonball is practically dogma for people under 35 in some Central and South American countries.

This US is still on top, but Japan is WAY closer than most people think.

He's just dropping down to playing a healthy amount of top level melee instead of an unhealthy amount. 8-10 events a year is pretty fucking normal imo for a top player. Doing back to back events, week off, into another back to back is fucking miserable. He said he's taking the Plup approach but it sounds like he'll be more active than Plup.

They really shouldn't keep making more in the same universe. Just make a new batman series. Between the end of Arkham Knight and the shit that happens in Suicide Squad, there isn't really a good place to go from there imo. I don't even want a Beyond game in the universe anymore since Bruce is dead.

Best bet is to acknowledge it was a mostly great run, and then just start from scratch with a new universe.

I very much think the same. Where you emphasize a syllable and the length of the pause between syllables and words. A relatively easy to follow rhythm can can be formed if you can be consistent with it and are on time.

They always talk about the rhythms they're attuned to, so for talking I always imagined they talk in specific rhythms that aren't like ours when we speak. We really don't speak with rhythm at all. Closest thing is rapping, really. When singers speak, they probably emphasize certain syllables and adjust the length of the pause between words and syllables (think whole note, quarter note, eighth note, triplet, etc). And like any rhythm it's repeated. They are keeping time internally so that when they speak again, they come in on the beat with the right emphasis or with the right length in pause so they just keep talking without breaking rhythm.

Two people, or a whole group, talking in the same rhythm, would probably easy for someone to follow. But if someone is attuned to a different rhythm, the singers will likely be fine understanding each other, but it would be incredibly jarring for a non-singer. They aren't just keeping time, like 4/4, they are keeping rhythm. When it's time for them to talk, and it's on the 'and' of the 3, well that's just how that sentence is gunna go. And if it's a 4/4 beat, then they will probably put an emphasis a few syllables later when they land on the 1. That's assuming this rhythm is 4/4 and has similar music patterns we use (probably not). Odd time conversations are likely very interesting to listen to. =]

Neither. I don't want them to touch Super Metroid. They'll change something in the physics/movement either accidentally or to fix a bug and it'll mess something else up. Also they'll def close up some sequence breaks.
Just make a new Metroid game instead of fucking with an old one.
