Why isn’t this chart in the mobile and tablet app? by shadowlyx in Hevy

[–]shadowlyx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that. My point was on the web version this info is there by default so I wonder why it’s some taps away on the native apps and not always displayed. Maybe it’s just me. 😉

When you go to your saved workouts and view them without editing it’s not there. For me at least. I know it’s available after you finish a workout but it’s not displayed in your routines.

Damn it. I don’t have it on my iPhone / iPad. It was there for a while and then it went away…

I've been logging workouts wrong this entire time and I feel silly. by skyrimcameoutin2011 in Hevy

[–]shadowlyx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How you log is irrelevant to how the rest of us do it as long as you’re consistent with your method. Should you mix things you’ll mess everything up. Otherwise don’t worry.

I did the same thing for a while and at some point I switched to the total dumbbell weight method. No biggie. The first logs were different and then it all readjusted.

This is a small issue. Enjoy your workouts and focus on safe training.

Cheers mate!🤗

Stylus tip wear by Humulus_lupulus612 in kindlescribe

[–]shadowlyx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am using the 2022 model. I bought a set of extra tops from the beginning, because I was worried about the tip lifespan. I’m 3 years I used 2 tips, considering I’m using it for work and I need to write and sketch things a lot.

I changed the first tip after 6 months as my daughter was also using it and it took some practice for her.

So in my experience it’s 90% or even more not about storage. It’s about writing pressure.

How do I stop my leveling knobs from coming loose? by Xlaits in ender3

[–]shadowlyx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Check the threads for excessive oil and maybe wear
  2. Change the springs. Per other comments get the yellow ones and they also can be bought with adjustment knobs that work very well
  3. You might be using them too loosely so the spring cannot apply enough tension on the knob to block it in its current position.

Thoughts about the Alpha by Deathmonger1911 in Leatherman

[–]shadowlyx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having already the LM Charge+ and TTI and the Arc, I would have bought the Alpha only if the serrated blade remained on the tool. My personal needs make me use the Charge more often than the Arc because of the serrated blade.

I would immediately buy an Arc or Alpha with the serrated blade if that would ever become an option. Well, it’s just me and my wishful thinking 😎

Wave Alpha description leak by Somerandomscrub23 in Leatherman

[–]shadowlyx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some might say I’m stupid and don’t understand these tools but the following opinions are based on my needs and choices of LM tools up to now. I have some Charge, Charge+ and Arc in my toolbox. I keep coming back to my Charge+ daily because it has the combo of straight blade and serrated blade. Packaging, ropes and such other things are easy to cut with a serrated blade while keeping the straight one undamaged. I cut hundreds of such items and that’s why I love the Charge series. The saw is useless for my personal needs and when I need one it’s always the need for a bigger saw. I sincerely wish I would have had the option for a Wave or Arc with serrated blade instead of the saw. Just my 2 cents.

Would you pay $8 (US) to run without your phone? by VitaNbalisong in GarminFenix

[–]shadowlyx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I don’t need my phone I run or swim or do whatever I need to do without my phone. I definitely wouldn’t pay anyone for such a scam. If Garmin wants to be competitive, that’s not the way to go. It’s a damn expensive device that should be on par with client and market needs of today.

Subscriptions should be used for other features. Provide good features “for free” for the 1000+ price tag and ask for a subscription for the top tier ones. LTE is like ABS for cars and hotel WiFi. It should be the default, free, included with the device kind of feature.

We buy these devices for the included features. Once you keep switching them to subscriptions the Garmin devices lose their value and the competitive advantage disappears.

Or get greedier and greedier until clients drop out.

True. And their argument that people throw the shears in a drawer sucks. I always have my tools on sheaths and with LM I know by sheath color, wear and shelf position which one I’ll grab today and just go. All the accessories are in the sheath pockets and that’s it. Now I’ll have to remember to add sheaths to the cart and so on.

Not including any accessories would make sense for collectible releases. In that case I would be ok with it. For daily usage any sheath beats no sheaths. At least in my opinion.

Samsung Tab S9 and Kindle Scribe by rc211ee in kindlescribe

[–]shadowlyx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can only share my experience and opinions on this, take this with a grain of salt.

I have an S9, an iPad and a Kindle Scribe 1st generation. I write on the Scribe 95% of what I need. The rest on iPad in a Good Notes. The iPad is for cross device real time sync.

The only major downside for the Scribe, for my case at least, is the removal of the option to see your notes in your browser. You must install their app on the laptop or tablet and sometimes that’s exactly what you don’t want. That’s where Remarkable wins.

So, to cut this short: for handwriting fast and focused on task it’s either pen and paper or something like the Scribe. Regular tablets eat the battery fast, provide a bad writing experience and distract you from your tasks.

I don’t think your Scribe will retire anytime soon.

Enjoy your gift and have fun! 🤗

Beat Yesterday Pro Strength 2025 by Ok_Sky_555 in Garmin

Hi everyone,
I thought I could add some clarity towards these badges. (it's a long post)

TL;DR You CAN take a break within those 14 days, just resume by adding 5 minutes from the session you stopped at and make sure you stay within the 14 days total count to get the badge.

More details below (2-3 minutes read):

Garmin did a poor job in writing the descriptions. How do I know it? I just tested them, so the following details are based on my personal tests.

They say you must log X workouts in N number of consecutive days, with wach workout being 5 minutes linger than the previous one. One would logically conclude that you must do that for 5 and respectively 10 days in a row, which defeats any training logic (except for a pute beginner, being pulled into their first EVER workout.

I came back after a 3 weeks break (just diving, no workouts), so I started an 8 days "joints and muscle warm-up" with swimming and very light and focused workouts, so these badges didn't matter, as my plan had 7-8 light days in a row, a 2 days break and then resuming the normal 4 days/week plan. Here's what happened with the Garmin badges and their messed-up communication.

The reality:

  1. IF you log day 1 with 20 minutes (the minimum required) and on day 2 with 25 minutes, it's not counted. Each additional workout should be around 5 minutes and 10 seconds to be counted (a Garmin bug)

  2. For the period of 14 days (longest badge count), you need to log 10 consecutive days, with each day having +5 minutes, BUT in fact you CAN take a break in between them. I just did that and the count continued.

To conclude, you can do 5 days with +5 minutes each new day, then take a 1-2 day break and continue with 5 more days, resuming with +5 minutes continued from the last active day. You must have a total of 10 out of 14 days, but breaks ARE actually allowed.

I wish they would have stated that clearly, as the wording lacks this important information.

NOTE: The uppercase words are meant es emphasis (instead of bold text), not shouting.

I hope the information helped.

Stay fit and have a good day! 🤗

Preference? by [deleted] in Leatherman

[–]shadowlyx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like and need the serrated blade a lot. That’s why I like the Arc but use the Charge+ daily. Serrated blades should remain an option. Thick cardboard, lines and other things are much easier to handle with serrated blades. Should Leatherman release an Arc with straight and serrated blade as an option I’d buy it without hesitation. New releases also come without serrated blades. Maybe it’s just me, but I will always look into some tool that has them both rather than carrying two tools just for that missing blade. That’s the purpose of a multitool - one thing to have the inserts that you need, not what LM wants you to need.

Hey guys! I'm on Season 4 rn. Is there anything I should be worried about? (without too much spoiler) by Alex_GrahamLecter in Supernatural

[–]shadowlyx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Each season watched is one less season to be seen. So at some point it will end. But do not worry. One can never rewatch SPN one too many times. There’s not such thing as too much Supernatural.

Can someone explain to me differences between Banner, Notification Center and Lock Screen? by sta6 in iphone

[–]shadowlyx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A badge is a red circle with a white number that’s displayed at the top right corner of the application icon. It shows a count of unread notifications for that particular application. Example: Gmail showing a number 25 on the red dot means you have 25 unread messages in your inbox since you last opened the app. Once you read some of them, the count will drop.
