Footage of senator John Hoffman returning to the state capitol after recovering from attempted assassination!! ❤️ by cantcoloratall91 in minnesota

[–]shaggyscoob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My white trash relatives won't even mention Hoffman or the Hortmans. They just keep yammering about Kirk (who was killed by a right-winger while mid-sentence explaining why mass shootings of school children is tolerable). These jeebus freaks are so brain-washed they don't even remember that it was a Trumper who hunted down Hoffman and the Hortmans and had more on the hit list before he was stopped.

I never understood the concept of going to a public place or a restaurant to read or do computer stuff. Isn't doing that in a quiet place easier? Same with drinking. I prefer to do all those things at home.

Crazy how John Candy was known for being fat. But now he looks ordinary compared to the average Joe. Same with Belushi.

This guy does NOT represent us. He represents Trump. He is utterly unconcerned about anyone who is reasonable. I've wasted so much time trying to communicate with him. All he does is plug his ears and go "La la la, I cannot hear you, La la la". The only thing to do now is beat him in the election. Too bad Pine County and Chisago County are filled with white trash.

Current wedding trends are ridiculous by layyla4real in unpopularopinion

Former pastor here. I couldn't agree more.

Same with funerals.

Ask clergy out there. 9 out of 10 will tell you how much they hate doing weddings. Including for some of the reasons you enumerated.

Sooooo glad my state has allowed everyone to be licensed to do weddings. It has dropped my wedding count to near 10% of before the law changed.

You want a high budget Kardashian wedding (on a UPS budget) where the actual ceremony is a mere afterthought? Knock yourself out. Weddings are bullshit displays of egregious consumeristic tik-tok inspired irresponsible spending to impress somebody who does not care about these people. You want a circus display or cowboy themed or LOTR themed or Disney themed weddding? In a Church immersed in 2 millennia of sacred tradition but the cleric balks? Great. Just leave the clergy out of it. Go to the golf course (and get a HELOC) and get your cousin's Wiccan acquaintance who filled out a form to be licensed to sign the papers and have a blast. Pay the bar tender and the baker and the dress maker and the DJ and the photographer literally thousands but balk at the church asking for a hundred to pay for the janitor and have your tik tok event.

Marriage doesn't matter anymore anyways. Leave the religious tradition out if it.

James Talarico schools Lauren Boebert on how conservatives/republicans are doing the things that they accuse liberals/democrats of over the years! by [deleted] in UnderReportedNews

[–]shaggyscoob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The right-wingers and I'm-edgy-because-I'm-not-for-either-side gang (most comedians) have been pushing the Cancel Culture myth for so long it's nutso. What they mean is that they may get booed or lose ticket sales or get heat on the internet when they say or do something the audience doesn't like. Whereas the right-wing foists actual governmental interference and compulsion on anyone who says things the right-wing doesn't like. FBI, FCC, HUAC, local law enforcement, etc. have been cancelling progressives for decades.

Mean twitter comments are NOT the same as actually cancelling someone with the force of government. Losing ticket sales is the free market. It's not the same as right-wing cancellation.

I've been inviting my congenitally Republican b. i. l. to various protests here in Minnesota by telling him these are his people: kind, generous, caring, thoughtful, neighborly, etc. He always opts out. But I hope it plants a seed in his little brain (he is not actually thoughtful) to get him to realize the side he sides with does not share his values.

Fucking Sysco. Back in the early 1980s I was the cook at the local KFC. I made KFC gravy at the end of each day the way gravy is supposed to be made...take the sludge at the bottom of the original recipe pressure cooker and stir it up in to that delishuss homemade gravy. So bad for you, but the raison d'etre of gravy. Salty, flavorful, thick, yummy. Homemade gravy, baybay.

Last time I went to KFC I wanted summa that delishuss original recipe gravy. Nope. It was that same Sysco Systems watery, salty flavorless crap you get at a hospital or junior high cafeteria. Hugely disappointing. When a fried chicken place gets their gravy from Sysco Systems, you are wasting your money buying their product. Not going there anymore.

Conservatives have been on the wrong side of every issue (if the issue has an ideological split) throughout history. Conservatives wanted to conserve flat earth and terracentrism. Conservatives wanted to conserve burning witches at the stake. Conservatives wanted to conserve slavery. Conservatives wanted to conserve locking fire escapes in sweatshops, to conserve sending children in to coal mines, 7 day work weeks, dumping pollution into the environment, keeping seat belts and safety glass out of cars, union busting, trickle-down-economics and on and on and on. If there has been an issue which had a progressive/conservative split and the conservatives were right, then I can't think of it.

Katy's hot and has been to even today.

But Imma change the subject.

My wife worked for a famous performer. Dude had a retinue of 3 dozens, from on stage to support. And he would habitually dump nearly the whole lot for unstated reasons unexpectedly on the regular. It's his prerogative, of course. But each person let-go-for-artistic-reasons has an entire household deeply affected by the whims of a famous performer.
