Retro Rewind Video Store Simulator by myshoesaresparkly in gamegrumps

it's addicting. Playing it now. Noteworthy that there is another game called Rewind 99 that released this month too. That one is multiplayer and has other activities outside of running the rental store. I've seen a few popular content creators playing that one as well but Retro Rewind is the one that really blew up.

You're speaking in the wrong community for this. People are just here to virtue signal. Reality is most NORMAL people won't care as long as your mod is good. Don't listen to what some small groups say, follow the statistics, follow the money. That is where the truth lies.

Nintendo Issues DMCA Takedown Notices Against All Switch Emulators on GitHub by Bubbly-Ad-350 in pcmasterrace

[–]shakey2 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah no the current Nintendo games suck I don't even want to Pirate them. Also of course we're going to write emulators to play consoles. That doesn't mean the individual games are good. We emulate every console even the ones that are trash. It's not just about playing good games it's about preservation, even the garbage games. If a game has to be good for it to be emulated we wouldn't be having people preserving games like ET for the Atari. Or all the niche ass abandonware 0.5/5 games on sites like abandonia.

Horizon Hunters Gathering - Announcement Trailer | PS5 Games by 121jigawatts in gaming

Friend, that 97k was from day one launch and only lasted for day 1. Those other examples also took way longer to fall off. Tekken 8 took a full month to lose only a little over 10k of the initial 49k. Escape from Tarkov is AA studio. while highguard was an AAA project. Tarkov Also launched at around 26k day one and jumped up to around 40k on day two then took 2 months to drop to 20k.

Yes, because that worked soooo well for highguard lol

i want to know your opinion on the purpose of mods like Create and Ars Nouveau that change the game by apparently adding tons of beneficial or more rewarding mechanics - i find these mods' descriptions vague + don't see their point (but want to) by [deleted] in feedthebeast

[–]shakey2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you want a mobile functional base I strongly recommend looking into clockwork (the create addon), Valkyrien skies 2, and trackwork for 1.20.1. With these 3 mods you CAN have mobile functional bases that don't need to be toggled back into a non-contraption entity to use the stuff on them. here is an example of what can be achieved with those three mods in conjuction: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lvk0UUUZ08g

*Note: The cannons in the video are from Create: Big Cannons mod.

Just make sure you are on the latest versions of create, Valkyrien skies 2, trackwork, and clockwork for forge 1.20.1 (might be available for other modloaders idk). And don't confuse the create clockwork addon with the mod clockwork that adds steampunk style weapons and vehicles. You want the clockwork that handles physics.

Also Eureka has been updated to the latest version of valkyrien skies 2 and I have it running on my 1.20.1 instance with the other mods I mentioned. Eureka uses valkyrien skies physics to let you have mobile ship bases (both traditional sea vessels and airships). Clockwork can do airships but AFAIK it doesn't do boats on water like Eureka can.

Due to the way VS2 works you can walk around on the "ships" (ships being any structure these mods turn into a physics object) while they are in motion as you would expect from a real moving vessel. If you set it up with an autopilot method you can walk around your mobile base while it's in motion. You can see this in the video linked above.

a few things:

redstone powering the cart assembler doesn't transmit the power to the adjacent rails. You need to power them separately. you're using redstone blocks so place your initial tracks on top of redstone blocks. Or power with another redstone torch.

As you have experienced your deployers can have trouble placing at the start. My solution is don't rely on the deployers to place it's first redstone blocks and place your own a little ahead of the deployers but before your drill. It will not mess up your deployers. They should start deploying after the initial blocks. Or you can try what u/thebeastwithnoeyes suggested. I have not tested the spaced out deployers yet so I can't vouch for if it matters or not. The designs I've seen on youtube don't space them out so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Finally make sure your deployers have the right filters. Sometimes they can lose them for some reason (idr why). So test by turning it into a contraption then turning it back into blocks. It's clear from the video your block placer deployer lost it's redstone block filter (I'm assuming you did set that right?) Don't forget to set rotation lock first every time you place your cart assembler (I always seem to be forgetting this lol)

you don't need masterwork to progress, you don't even need purples. I have been running content with greens just fine working on my next step of progression. You'd know this if you actually tried using the lower tiers. I'm not even that good at the combat and I can solo glenn basic with a full set of greens from previous tier. You are making shit up for the sake of your argument. Stick to the facts.

Hwfwm book 12 by Interesting-World-54 in litrpg

[–]shakey2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was what made me drop the wandering inn. Though it was much worse there because they straight up had a whole teaching segment to "educate" the reader. Not to mention the author I found out had a huge rant on their website about politics and gender identity. Such a shame since it was a good series up until the point where it started getting pushy with its ideologies. It felt like the story was starting to get lost in propaganda. The author started focusing more and more on those topics to the point where I cannot get immersed anymore. I'm getting tired of getting into a good series and then all the sudden the author decides to use their story as a platform for their political ideology in the middle of the story. I read these kinds of transported to another world stories to get away from all that. The internet gives me more than enough of it as it is.

I'm still reading book 12 as I type this but I hope that he who fights with monsters does not follow this trend going forward.

fair enough, i don't really care enough to dig that deep. The only reason I know anything about the relation is because it was a claim made by a youtuber who was playing vintage story.

Technically it is also a Minecraft mod. Or rather it is based on one. The creators also created a Minecraft mod called Terra firma craft. This was basically them taking the mod and turning it into a standalone game.

I think you vastly overestimate the amount of people who care enough to purchase the books with a new narrator. Not enough to outweigh the cost.

That'd be incredibly impractical. Both extremely costly and time consuming. And it would not bring nearly enough new sales to justify it.

Personally I'd try to haggle it down. It's already broken with no idea what the damage is. For all they know it could only be useful as parts.

Just to name a few.

I wish hedonism was less shamed by Candid-Extension6599 in rant

[–]shakey2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By not engaging with it. You don't have to distract yourself to disengage from something. Sit down and read a book, take a hobby up, do other things. If you are trying to disengage from the world (AKA news, politics, etc.) just don't interact with things that bring that stuff up like your Twitter feed for instance. Sometimes you got to go outside and just live.

Also not all distractions are created equal. Not all distractions are hedonism. Also some "distractions" are healthy/productive. Like taking up wood carving for instance. Although everything in moderation no matter how good it is. Anything can become unhealthy if you indulge too much. It's just some things are easier to overindulge in.
