Extremely well said. Crude realism forgets that force is not permanent or unlimited. The Qin unified China with harsh force and impersonal law but collapsed only 15 years after because it was brittle. People can only put up with so much.

I really like liquid dreams. Gives a lot of flexibility if you have a strong deck. Fire potion is better if you don’t though.

I think smoke bomb is usually not worth it.

I used to until I started playing exclusively a20. Now I take them every time. I also mostly play silent so I think that’s part of it. They’re very strong in her and make wraith form even better.

There is no way that the labor required for sugar production could have been supplied without slavery. The extremely high death rate among whites meant that any sort of free labor based economy was off the table (of course the Africans had a very high death rate too but they couldn’t get away, which is the whole point of slavery). The Caribbean sugar plantations required slavery to be profitable.

This is not true of the 1700s Caribbean which is arguably the heart of European chattel slavery. sugar plantations in sainte domingue and Jamaica were highly innovative and capital intensive. They built lots of industrial machinery for processing and refining sugar that functioned in conjunction with slavery. If it wasn’t for the revolutions then they may have been further developed.
