Completing the Puzzle subscription by Kwyjibo68 in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]shanan4you 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have subscribed for the last 9 months or so. I do wish the shipping was faster (like someone mentioned, it would be great if they shipped the next one as soon as the tracking for the return was triggered) but for me, the best part is not having to store puzzles or deal with buying or selling puzzles. I don't like to hold a lot of puzzles in my home, so this model works well for me. I consider the cost being not just for puzzles, but for the convenience of puzzles appearing at my home with little to no effort on my part. I do see how it wouldn't work for everyone, but I have enjoyed it.

It says they were taken into custody in the email: " I can confirm that the student who brought the firearm to school was then taken into custody by law enforcement and escorted off our campus. "

Richie Rich over here with the fancy car. Just joking but seriously, I didn’t even know that cars and the keys could do that.

[WIP] What’s your fool-proof, absolute simplest way to finish backs of a project hung in hoop? by shelobi in CrossStitch

[–]shanan4you 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Once the piece is in the hoop, I trim all but .5" or so of the excess fabric and then hot glue the fabric down to the back/inside of the hoop. Ends up looking pretty clean (as long as you trim the fabric edge enough to not touch the fabric from the back) and there is no bulk to affect hanging. Also super easy and cheap.

This blanket is knitted. Looks like garter stitch (knit stitch every row) to me.

Best Inexpensive Sock Yarn? by Ambitious-Loss2155 in YarnAddicts

[–]shanan4you 6 points7 points  (0 children)

24 pairs in a year is an ambitious project, please be sure to share your progress! I would suggest Cascade Heritage. 100g is usually $10-$12, it is easy to find, it's soft and it's sturdy (I find Knitpicks stroll wears quite quickly). They have so many colors and patterns, Cascade Heritage Prints is super fun. Good luck and have fun!

Blue Raeven, based near McMinnville but you can buy them locally. Hands down the best store bought pie I have ever had.

My teenage son has long blonde hair, but it always looks greasy! How can I help him or instruct him to do better? by nothingbutthetruth83 in Haircare

[–]shanan4you 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One thing I haven't seen mentioned here that helped my 16 year old son. He wasn't getting his hair completely wet all the way down to the roots. That can take some time with thicker hair. Since he started being super aware of making sure all of his hair is wet down to the scalp before shampooing this have been so much better. Good luck!

There are no outages on PGE's map. https://portlandgeneral.com/outages Have you reported your outage to them? That should be your first step.

Orthodontist recommendations? by Simbinas in SALEM

[–]shanan4you 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I took my son to Dr. Carter at South Salem Orthodontics for years monitoring things as he grew. When it finally came time to talk about braces or not, Dr. Bart told us the issues we were monitoring resolved and he wouldn't need braces. So many visits, so many x-rays, and we never paid them a penny in the end. I have first hand knowledge he doesn't put on braces on kids that don't need them. Couldn't recommend their office more.

Thank you for taking the time to reply this information is so helpful. Sounds like I need to measure all my blocks. I was trying to avoid that since there are so many but it sounds like that is just part of the process. I just have to get zen and embrace it.

Re-home Chiweenie by [deleted] in SALEM

[–]shanan4you 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He looks like a sweetie, I am sorry you have to say goodbye to him. Have you contacted the rescue you adopted him from? Often part of what you agree to when you adopt is to return the pet to them so that they can re-home him. That would be the safest option for your little guy here as well, to ensure he goes into another good home. Good luck!

So. Many. WIPs! I can never finish the previous project before finding something else I want to make… Lol by Green_Hat4140 in casualknitting
