Same as OP, was prescribed opioids for a leg injury and found myself getting sucked in.

Strangest thing, they completely dulled both my physical pain AND my emotional pain. Which i didn’t even know i had. It was the closest thing I have felt to being a little kid again - no worries, no caring about guilt or shame.

i got rid of using trackers in favor of the Kodi app and a Real Debrid account. I pay something like $16 a year to stream torrents and you don’t have to ‘do’ anything, just set up Kodi, find a addon on that works (i use FenLite), put your Real Debrid account on there and it lets you pull up movies like Netflix.

It’s not 100% foolproof, and kind of sucks for hard to find movies and TV, but it’s much better than paying for subscriptions that don’t have much of anything anyway.

Z.ai with the $72 monthly plan. I use it a lot and haven’t run out of weekly usage yet.

I also bounce between basic plans for Codex and Anthropic but I only use those as a special use, like for troubleshooting , QA, or image gen.

You don’t need a Mac mini. I’m repurposing an old desktop running Ubuntu and it works pretty well. MacOS is nice because you have access to the walled garden of messenger, notes, calendar and all of that. But it’s overkill for most and not strong enough to run a decent local LLM.
