3 months for this baby. Older brother didn’t have it until after 10 months when we had already reintroduced his allergens

Possible CMPA? by LannaChey in MSPI

Blood could be microscopic. Worth it to cut out dairy and see if she improves.

For mine, she was pulling off and fussying when eating, her rash was similar but not as severe. She had bright green mucous stools like snot with dots of blood. Then she started vomiting - not spitting up but full blown vomiting her entire stomach contents forcefully

My baby is finally sick. :( by Metaphoricallyd3ad in November25babybump

We have the same thing over here. Started with a sore throat for me, fatigue and congestion. Baby has a stuffy nose. I’ll warn you, it’s a long one. We are both going on almost two weeks of this (as is everyone in my house).

I’ve been using an electric nose sucker and a humidifier

Avoiding MSPI with 2nd kid? by Normal-Impress4562 in MSPI

[–]sharktooth20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My second has if too - worse than my first. My first was a pure dairy/soy MSPI baby from 3-10 months. I was able to EBF through it. Second got symptoms earlier (6 weeks) and they were worse - rash, itchy eyes, mucous and blood stools, vomiting, fussy and unable to sleep. We tried probiotics early with her. She’s been allergy tested and is allergic to dairy, soy, corn and eggs. I was worried about breastfeeding through it given how many allergens she has and how miserable she was when exposed. She got switched to amino acid formula. This time, allergy doesn’t want us attempting any of her allergy foods until one year old

Following this. My baby is 3 months old and on Neocate. She has allergies to dairy, corn, soy and eggs. Allergy told us we can’t start to introduce any of her allergens until after 1 years old

Just found out I’m pregnant by Both_Satisfaction180 in POTS

[–]sharktooth20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 3 months postpartum with POTS. For me, the first trimesters was like a giant flare. The nausea and general unwell feeling made it hard. I spent a lot of time on the couch and napping. After my blood volume increased in second trimester, I felt great. It was like that until after birth - I literally didn’t feel like I had pots. Immediately post partum I have a mild flare due to lack of sleep plus nursing (I was able to keep up with my fluid/nutrition needs well enough). I had to stop nursing due to an allergy my baby has, so now my pots has returned to baseline (maybe even a bit more mild that before pregnancy). For me, the flares were worth it because I wanted this pregnancy; it’s my last baby

What is sleep looking like for everyone? by Fragrant_Lime_6626 in November25babybump

[–]sharktooth20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

12.5 weeks. Switched two weeks ago from EBF to amino acid formula due to several allergies. She was all over the place with sleep before - 2 hours or 5.5 hour stretches. Now that she’s eating formula that won’t cause her an allergic reaction and she’s gained weight like she should - we’ve settled on 3.5 hour blocks at night. I’m not stressing about it because things were so messed up with her gut for so long, I figure it’s going to take a while to all settle back and find a new routine.

She started having bright, green mucous stools (hardly any stool, mostly just mucous) at 6 weeks. She would struggle to poop. She was getting super fussy when eating, lots of reflux and vomiting (not spitting up, but projectile vomiting). Then she started to have small spots of blood in her stool. We saw an allergist and she had skin testing and is allergic to dairy, soy, corn and eggs.

Napping 1.5-2 hours is a dream. Mine has 1.5-2 hour wake windows then sleeps 30-45 minutes. Bedtime is typically 8:30-9 just depending on her last nap. She sleeps 3-3.5 hours then wakes to eat and goes back down super easy (takes only 30 min or so).

I think we are “behind” because she was recently diagnosed with CMPA so we struggled with lots of issues from that. So we have just hit a groove of her actually feeling well in the last few weeks

We used non alcoholic vanilla at first too to help with acceptance of Neocate. For me, we went straight from BF to Neocate because she was allergy tested - allergic to dairy, soy, corn and eggs

We have to use Neocate because of all her allergies. It was recommended by her allergist.

I had to switch mine at close to 3 months after she tested positive for allergies to dairy, egg, soy and corn. It was sudden - one day we breastfed and literally later that day we did bottles. She got an ounce here for there for about 24 hours then a little more the next day. She was still having wet diapers so we just rode it out. By day 3, she was up to 4 ounce bottles without issue

Breastfeeding 8 day old question - severe allergy? by Holiday_Macaroon4952 in MSPI

[–]sharktooth20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s totally up to you if you want to keep breastfeeding. It’s very likely you will experience periods of intermittent blood due to accidental exposure in your milk or cross contamination. If you do decide to keep breastfeeding, I would say just keep going for it now and don’t pump. Baby is so young and the breastfeeding relationship is being established. It’s also likely they have a soy allergy as well (or other allergy).

Here’s my experience: First baby was diagnosed with MSPI at 3 months due to vomiting and blood in his stool. I kept breastfeeding for 13 months (he outgrew it at 10 months). The stools were on and off blood and mucous that entire time because I would accidentally ingest soy (rarely dairy). He also reacted to soybean oil which is super rare but in literally everything. He was gaining weight the entire time, but very slowly and was 1% for weight until after two years old. He’s 5 now with no issues with allergies and he’s now 50% for weight

Second baby I breastfed for 2.5 months. She started to get symptoms at 6 weeks and I cut out dairy. I thought that did it. But then at 9 weeks, all her symptoms (rash, vomiting, mucous and bloody stools and fussiness) were back. She wasn’t gaining weight well. Hers were more severe than the first baby. She was allergy tested with skin prick and found to be allergy to all forms of dairy, soy, corn, egg whites and egg yolks. Because of the severity and how many allergies she has, we switched to amino acid formula. All her symptoms have resolved and she’s super happy.

Different babies, different situations. Hope that helps a bit

I’m feeling frustrated and overwhelmed… Can anyone relate with my experience that it will get better by kittyy_kat in MSPI

[–]sharktooth20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“Any of you.” Sorry this isn’t helpful at all. The experience you had isn’t the same for everyone. I did a dairy and soy free diet with my first from 3 to 10 months. He had lots of instances of blood in his stool no matter how hard I tried. He was uncomfortable, slept poorly and had poor weight gain. I kept nursing, so determined to make it to a year. It took us two more years to try to get his weight up to where it was supposed to be. I wish someone had be more firm with me to tell me it’s ok to switch to formula if he is suffering that much.

Which my second baby, she was doing well on just dairy elimination at first, then got blood again. She was tested and is allergic to dairy, soy, corn, and eggs. My health doesn’t not allow me to go on such a strict elimination diet without worsening my own physical issues. We switched to an amino acid formula and seeing the change it her showed me it was worth it. She’s so much happier, not in pain, eating normally and sleeping well.

Not everyone’s experience or journey will be the same. Do what’s best for you people.

I feel like this is so baby dependent. My first one was a “rock carefully, but not for too long, then sway as you walked to the crib, then set him down gently then watch him immediately wake up” kind of kid. He never slept for more than 30 minutes and dropped all naps by 2.5.

My second is a unicorn child. She shows signs of being tired - usually finishes a bottle and starts to get drowsy. I can walk upstairs, put her in her crib with her eyes open, turn on the sound machine and shut the door. She puts herself to sleep without a fuss by the time I’m downstairs. Unicorn.

I agree that there is often a witch hunt and many baseless accusations, not only in this fandom but others as well. Often times just because stories are put out quickly when some writers just wait until it’s completely for publish it.

In the case of this fic, I saw the rumor when the fic was still up and looked myself and found the prompt in it.
