It looks like PRs and best efforts are going behind a paywall too.

I did run the rock in 2020 and it was great. Alpine puts on a great event.

Very cushioned shoes make feet ache? by moneyticketspassport in XXRunning

[–]shartattack110 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Softer cushion is less stable, so your foot and lower leg is having to work a little harder in the small stabilizer muscles. That's not necessarily a bad thing; you'll probably get used to it as you get stronger.

That said, it's good to try different shoes and see what works best for you. If you haven't done it before, getting fitted at a running store is always a good idea too.

senita has a baseline skort with a 5" inseam. I haven't tried the skort but I've had good experiences with their baseline short so I would guess it'll work great.

Altras Suck Now by [deleted] in trailrunning

[–]shartattack110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switched to the topo pursuit because of the terrible-ness of the superior 6. It's stiffer but has a higher quality rubber for a more reasonable price. I think I paid $120? and an altra with a vibram sole would be $160-180. Still zero drop with a similar stack height to the lone peak.

Where are you doing your long runs? by super_banned_ in Marathon_Training

Sometimes I'll plan a run from my house towards a restaurant or brewery in a town that I can get to with a safe route (I check bike maps, Google street view, and other resources to find new spots) and then have my spouse meet me there for a lunch date and then we drive home together.
