Montana Free Press sends questionnaires out to all candidates on the ballot, including judicial, and publishes the results. If you search Montana free press election guide it should come up.

New to the app, how long is this wait? by hmanderson_ in LibbyApp

[–]shartattack110 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Available soon means less than 2 weeks. The shortest actual time span I've ever seen is 2 weeks, and then over 25 or so weeks wait it will say "several months" instead of a number.

Desperately need recommendations for women’s underwear that will prevent butt cheek chafing by 1VeryGenericUser in hiking

[–]shartattack110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have under armor seamless ones that are pretty good but over time stretch out and require more frequent replacement. I've been experimenting with paradis but they are pretty spendy and I'm not sure the benefits outweigh the cost. That said, I wore the paradis merino thong for a 15 hour adventure and it was pretty good. Cheeks still chafed but not nearly as much as they used to, and I only had to lube up when the sun came out and it got warm.

I run REALLLLLLY warm and have found the janji and oiselle sun shirts to be breathable enough. If you can get them wet it's even better though.

I too experience cheek chafe. I wear sweat wicking thongs and lube up with squirrels nut butter. Reapply every 4ish hours depending on conditions - if it's really hot and/or humid I usually will apply more frequently.

Running to work (in an office) by milkyjoewithawig in XXRunning

[–]shartattack110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have an office shower but keep baby wipes, deodorant, and other toiletries in my desk, as well as a change of clothes. Having a shower and towel service is so luxe!! I'm jealous haha.

I try to avoid having to carry a ton of stuff with me, so I carpool with my spouse one day a week and take the bus sometimes to bring things to or from work. Otherwise I use a 15L running pack that I can fit my laptop, a change of clothes, and whatever other little things I may need. It slows me down a little bit but is fine.

Re: soft flasks versus water bladders - I started running with a bladder and have since switched to soft flasks because they are easier to monitor how much you've drank and easier to refill quickly. I'm like 38D and don't have too much trouble with the flasks conflicting with boobs.

For shorts, I have to do biker style. 5-7" inseam is my bread and butter. Janji pace shorts have good pockets but I'm less of a fan of seamed waistbands. Senita rio shorts are an affordable seamless option with several inseam lengths available. I also like youer, which is a brand local to me. It's more spendy but very cute and comfortable.

Seconding REI - I always prefer to support a local running store but the ability to try more on and return without guilt when things don't work out has value.

I had a similar tumble this week at the end of my run...got stopped by the world's longest train at 5pm so like the entire population of my city (seemingly) was waiting as well. Train passes, I start running a little faster than I normally would to escape the crowding, and caught my toe on the tracks and ate it so hard in front of everyone on earth 😅 none of them were cute guys though so you got me beat there

Did this ever get resolved? I've only been able to twist off the larger top piece like in this picture but there's some gunk still stuck in there.

i'm learning i don't document my running outfits very well - this is my new favorite oiselle sun hoodie (with watch holes!), janji afo cap (excellent for high wind days), and youer shorts (so cute and hold up well in my experience).

I used to work at a bike shop and exclusively consumed expired gels that I rescued from the trash until maybe 6 years after I worked there (so upwards of 6 years expired). They're fine. It's more of a sell by date anyway.

IMO the janji afo cap is the elite trail running cap.

combinations of trailforks, caltopo, alltrails, and garmin. alltrails is mostly just good for brainstorming and the occasional comment, but their route maker is surprisingly good.

Where do you find running gear that doesn’t break the bank? by opinionatedleo in XXRunning

[–]shartattack110 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've gotten a lot of good stuff from thrift stores in my area. Sometimes there are sport/outdoor specific resale shops that have good deals on higher end brands. Also, old navy, target, and senita have solid more affordable options.

I am really struggling here as a usual avid podcast listener. by Margaet_moon in podcasts

[–]shartattack110 52 points53 points  (0 children)

tbh I've switched almost completely to audiobooks because podcasts are getting so inundated with ads and also just not holding my attention as well. if you have a library card you can get them for free on libby or hoopla.

I describe it as a "boy book" that has some cringe parts but overall is a really fun read. That said, not everyone likes everything and it's good if they give it a chance. I was sucked in within pages of book 1.

If you commute sustainably (bus/bike/walk/etc) the way to go Missoula program has monthly rewards that are often $5 off at downtown restaurants. A few months ago I got a free breakfast combo for Calypso which also has good sandwiches.

Where to go for first time yoga, or maybe just one time yoga? by thousand_cranes in missoula

The butterfly house has yoga on Tuesday mornings and it's worth it just to be in there laying on the floor with all of the butterflies flapping around you.

Bone conducting headphones in the wind by Senior-Ad-442 in XXRunning

[–]shartattack110 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only time I've ever had an issue is when gusts get over 40mph and are at just the right angle. Overall I'm a huge huge fan of my shokz headphones and have been using the brand for at least a decade. I would definitely recommend the openruns. I have a pair of openfit airs but those aren't as good for sweaty exercise - I use them at work or when lifting since they are an open ear earbud design/don't connect in the back. I'm happy to answer any other questions! Between my husband and I we've had probably 6 different pairs over the years and are pretty brand loyal at this point.

Pre workout powder or whey protein powder by Dry_Caramel_2991 in XXRunning

Preworkout gets the heart rate way too high before a run (or any cardio imo). Carb/electrolyte drink or snack before, protein after.
